1969 426-HEMI PLYMOUTH Road Runner 2-Dr Hardtop

NOT A CLONE

VIN- RM23J9G225748

If you are looking for a low-cost Hemi, clone, or project car- this care is not for you.  This is a carefully and fully restored car.  It runs and drives as you expect of a proper Hemi.  This Road Runner is a very low  mileage car with 37,900 original miles.  This car is not driven.  Since its three-year restoration, the car has been adult-driven less than 15miles since it’s nearly 100pt restoration.  This car has never seen rain and has been kept in a climate controlled area since restoration.  This was a straight-car with a good body before restoration.  The car was taken all of the way down and detailed from top to bottom to “complete factory specifications.”  Complete frame-off and rotisserie restoration was performed.  All original sheet-metal, no floor pans or quarter panels, ect. have never been placed on this car.  No upgrades or short cuts were taken in this build.  The car was brought back to life 100% original, except with a better attention to detail and quality of work.  The paint and body is spectacular!  No dings or scratches.  The body lines are all good.  Each and every piece was taken back to factory specs.  This car is fully detailed with all correct markings as they were done from the factory down to the chalk markings and tags.

This 1969 426-HEMI PLYMOUTH Road Runner 2-Dr Hardtop has been inspected and entered into GTS (Galen’s Tag Service)  or known as “Galen’s Registry.”  If you are not familiar with Galen’s service; let me explain his services.  Basically, his service provides you w 100% pure proof that you are not paying money for a clone car.  He also provides other valuable information to a rare car owner.  He most commonly inspects 1962-1974 Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler products.  He is considered the acknowledged authority on decoding of VIN, fender tag, and Broadcast Sheet Information for all Mopars.

His findings for this car:  there was 421 – 1969 426-HEMI PLYMOUTH Road Runner 2-Dr Hardtop’s built to Spec’s for USA.  There were 234 4Spds and 187 Autos 1 of 187 makes this a very rare Hemi.  1969 426-HEMI PLYMOUTH Road Runner 2-Dr Hardtop is NOT a clone.  It was accurately decoded to find the Dash VIN, primary body code, secondary body code, body code plate, engine code on the block was and is CORRECT.  This car originally was an automatic.  It has been changed to a 4spd.  So, the transmission is the only VIN or code that does not match on this car.  Vehicles registered in Galen’s Registry at the time, made this car #25 of 47 in VIN sequence of all 1969 426-HEMI PLYMOUTH Road Runner 2-Dr Hardtop’s accounted for at the St. Louis, MO plant and built to spec for the USA.

The VIN number of the Road Runner 426 Hemi is a stainless steel plate on the driver’s side dashboard and is visible thru the windshield.  A “J” designation as the fifth character of the 13-digit VIN identifies the vehicle as a factory equipped 426-Hemi Road Runner.  This car: RM23J9G225748.  The sixth digit indentifies this Road Runner as a 1969: VIN RM23J9G225748

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
