Up for sale is my prized possession 1969 Road Runner Pro Street.  This is absolutely a best-of-the-best high performance street machine of monstrous proportions.  As you can see by the pictures, this car is new top to bottom, end to end, and inside and out.

If you really don't like attention, this is not the car for you.  Every time you stop, people want to talk about it and are constantly taking pictures of it everywhere I go.  This epic street machine gets loads of attention.  I will tell you from experience, I have had people flag me down in over six lanes of traffic just to take pictures.  Sitting on brand new 31 x 18.50 x 15 Mickey Thompson Sportsman's on the rear and matching 26 x 7.5 x 15's on the front, this Road Runner has been fully tubbed out back with a new four link suspension and a Ford 9" rear end.  QA1 coil over shocks and springs suspend the rear end augmented by 4.30 gears.  The new TCI 727 automatic transmission with a manual shift reverse valve body shifter is backed by a 3000 RPM stall torque converter.

Under the hood sits a fully detailed, show stopping 383 Magnum Big Block, equipped with a new Comp Cam XE274H-10 cam, lifters, valve springs, timing chain, and gears.  An Edelbrock Performer dual plane intake topped with a new Holley 4150 Street HP 750 Double Pumper carburetor supplies the fuel.  The exhaust passes through Hooker Headers, to 40 Series Flow Master mufflers connected to 3" pipes that dump just in front of the pig.  Electric cutouts just ahead of the mufflers allow you to run open pipes when you feel the need.  The activator switch to port the exhaust directly to the sides is hidden in the ashtray.  This monster has a nasty, wicked lope that is amplified by a flip of the switch.  Fuel is directed from a 22 gallon fuel cell in the trunk.  This beast is tamed by the cooling powers of a brand new Mopar OEM 26" re-cored radiator.  All glass is in excellent condition.  Trim as well.  All rubber weather seals front to back are new.  All turn signals, indicator lights, headlights, and interior accents work like new.  New carpet, dash, seats, headliner, etc. top it off.  Body and paint inside and out is new, stunning, and flawless.  All gaskets have been replaced, transmission, intake, exhaust, etc., during the rebuild such that this car does not leak a drop of anything.  Lights, grill, bezels, and all chrome fascia are as new.  Limelight exterior coat-base coat is two years old.  Proper Mopar OEM battery is 30 days old.  All fluids including oil, transmission, hydraulic, and coolant are fresh.  This car is a turn key car that is ready to enjoy the minute the key is in your hand.  If you have any questions please contact me at 260-760-1975.  This car is also on sale locally, I reserve the right to end this listing at any time without notice.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
