Crystal City, Missouri, United States

All original 303hp 389 V8 with SuperHydromatic transmission. (reverse is all the way down). Car starts right up. The only thing not original is the new MSD ready to run distributor, plugs and black MSD plug wires. I still have the original distributor, cap and wires. Runs and stops well. I've had her up to 90mph, but I would probably put new shocks on if I planned to drive that fast often. She floats! I'm starting to get used to driving drum brakes, she stops pretty good. She currently has Missouri plates, regular car plates, she passed safety inspection last year. But my insurance ran out the end of January. Figured I list her on here before renewing. SHE IS A DRIVER. All lights and gauges work except clock.  AM radio even works. She runs smooth, but has some smoke from PCV valve. The dash is cracked and carpet is faded. You can see from the pictures the seats and door panels are beautiful! Someone short repainted original color, but only painted sides, trunk and hood. I guess they couldnt reach the top? you would never notice it from 2 feet away, but at top of pillar behind rear doors you can see how high he got. Only 3 rust spots. Bottom of rear wheel opening in front of tire on both sides and behind tire on passenger side only. Floors and trunk are rock solid. Frame is solid but has a little rust scale. I was going to wire brush it and paint it. Rear passenger door has some damage as well, see picture.

Last July I got a crazy idea I should buy  piece of junk and see if I could get it back on the road safely. Well Bonnie went to storage and I havent seen her since. I know when the weather warms up and I get here out I will keep her. So I am listing her now. All pictures were taken last July. (BTW that "project piece of junk is for sale as well).

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.
