This is a very cool and rare old Pontiac Catalina Convertible with Factory Tri-power. It is a heavily optioned car and rare color combo. Options are: Power steering, brakes, top, windows, vent windows, and seat. Other options are, dome light, lighted rear trunk emblem, tri-power, and autronic eye. Color is Royal Amethyst Poly code # NN. Interior is tri-tone silver. It is an older restoration that still shows very well.

Cosmetic Condition: Paint is very presentable but no longer show quality. Looks like a single stage enamel or maybe lacquer? There is some slight imperfections here and there, the worst is in the valleys of the rear fins. The interior was all replaced and a new top installed. Both are still super nice. All chrome and stainless trim is mostly very good to excellent except the bumpers. They are driver quality. Underside is clean but not show quality. No visible rust issues anywhere.

Mechanical Condition:  Engine and trans were rebuilt and still run out fine. There is a hesitation with the carbs when accelerating. Probably could use a carb adjustment from someone that actually knows tri-power induction. Exhaust and brakes are new.  Tires are new wide white bias ply tires. Look great, but they do not ride like radials.

Misc stuff: All gauges work including speedometer. Lights all work. Windows all work, but there is a very small chip in front windshield. Wipers do not work and the heater has been bypassed. Never researched either one. There is an old in dash AM/FM Cassette radio that does not play. Probably because there is a high end stereo CD player in the glove box with a separate booster amp / equalizer and a large woofer in the trunk. It does work. The top goes up fine, but needs help to come back down. Looks like a new pump and all new hoses were installed? No parade boot. There are original wheels and hubcaps in the trunk as well as an original try-power air cleaner with a new filter, the original jack, a new spare tire cover and trunk mat. There is no spare tire. Wheels are vintage Keystone mags. Decent shape for their age and the retro style looks like they could have been a factory option back then. Even has the Pontiac "V" logo on the center caps. It is showing 76,460 miles on the working odometer, but I have no way of knowing if it is actual or not. I also do not know where this car originated from. The cowl tag must have been removed during the restoration but never made it back on.

All in all, this is a very nice car that you can drive as is and have a lot of fun with. Or it would be an easy car to restore to a higher level.

NO TRADES

NO TRADES

NO TRADES

Now for the business end. I encourage you, or someone you trust or hire, to come by and check out the vehicle in person. I will refund your deposit if the vehicle does not match the above description. The vehicle does not leave here until all funds clear my bank. Bank and cashiers checks can take up to 10 business days. My bank will give me a letter stating the date when the check will clear. I will forward a copy of the letter to you. Bank transfers can take up to 2 days depending on what time of the day it is initiated on your end. Again, my bank will let me know when it clears. Cash is great if picking it up in person.

Call me at 314-732-592five to get honest answers to all of your questions BEFORE YOU BID. Thanks, Dave

I do not respond to text messages

One more time, NO TRADES, Please do not ask. If you do not know, understand, and accept what "no trades" means, then you surely do not have a vehicle that I would be interested in.

I do not respond to low ball offers, text messages, or take offers over the phone. If you want to make an offer, please do so through ebay email. Include your name and contact info. If I feel you are a serious buyer, I will contact you back. If you do not hear back from me, then my vehicle must be out of your price range. Once my vehicle hits it's reserve price, I will not end the auction.

I do not give out my reserve price. Too many knuckleheads out there that like to play games with bidding just under the reserve amount with no intention of actually buying the vehicle. Makes it look like schill bidding is going on.

If you have a feed back rating less that 100% or less than 10 feedbacks, you might want to check with me before bidding. I will sometimes block or cancel bids if I get a bad feeling for the bidder. Non-paying winners are a real problem for sellers and it is hard to get seller fees refunded from Ebay in a timely manner, if at all.

For you new members, please don't bid unless you know and accept how ebay works and understand that you are legally committing to purchase if you bid. Not following through with a purchase after winning an auction for a new member can result in ebay canceling your membership.

Thanks to all, good luck with your bidding, and have a great day, Dave  314-732-592five

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.

NHTSA investigating 550k Pontiac G6 models, 320k Honda Odysseys

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

According to two separate reports in The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching investigations into 550,000 Pontiac G6 (pictured above) and 320,000 Honda Odyssey (pictured right) models. The G6 models are all from the 2005 to 2007 model years, while the Odyssey minivans are from the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two NHTSA probes are not related.
In the case of the G6, this is an upgrade to an original investigation that started in February after NHTSA received "hundreds of reports" that the brake lights on these cars may malfunction. According to The Detroit News, the lights may come on when the brake pedal is not depressed, and likewise, the brake lights may not illuminate when the pedal has been pushed. General Motors was able to provide NHTSA with a significant number of warranty claims, including 1,100 reports that could potentially relate to this problem, one of which indicates a vehicle crash.
For Honda, the NHTSA probe concerns airbags that may deploy unexpectedly. The government agency received six complaints from 2003-04 Odyssey owners saying that the front airbags suddenly went off without a crash. The Detroit News reports that three of the six owners sustained injuries from these incidents. Additionally, NHTSA has received 41 complaints from owners saying the vehicle's airbag warning light had illuminated.
