This is a 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT. One of the better years for this model as Pontiac finally go it right. A great running car but my Dad says its time to go to someone who will run it and care for it. Too many cars in the collection so the Fiero didn't make the cut. Minor blemishes interior and exterior but nothing an afternoon off cleaning and buffing wouldn't cure. It will need tires near term but you will probably want to put new on anyway. Of note... V6 with 5 Speed Muncie Getrag transmission. New brakes up front and headlight motors have been rebuilt This would be classified as Hegerty 3 rated so bid accordingly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.. |

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?

General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
