1999 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Coupe 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
New Philadelphia, Ohio, United States
1999 Pontiac Trans Am 5.7L LS1 V8, 4 Spd Auto. Fully loaded including power windows, locks, mirrors, and leather seats. Cold A/C, 4 wheel disk with ABS, fog lamps, tilt, cruise, T-tops, factory 10 speaker "monsoon" sound system with CD and steering wheel controls. Car overall is clean and in good condition, everything works as it should. It runs strong and drives well (There are No illuminated service lights). The transmission shifts firmly and the brakes are good. The body and undercarriage are clean and have very little surface rust. There is no evidence of paint or bodywork. The body has a few scuffs on the front bumper cover, and a few dings on the top of the right quarter panel (see pics). The left headlight cover is a bit loose but they operate as they should. The rear side speakers need replaced (Can be bought here on ebay for $57 each). This car is not perfect, but was adult-female driven, is all stock, unmolested and unmodified. Despite the mileage it runs and drives extremely well. The tires are fairly new, the air blows cold, and I believe the transmission has been replaced. Feel free to make a Reasonable offer. I may end the listing early as the car is for sale locally as well. $500 Paypal deposit due within 24 hours. Balance due upon pickup within 7 days. |

GM issues four new recalls, 2.4 million cars affected
Tue, 20 May 2014General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.
Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:
1,339,355 - Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia models from the 2009 to 2014 model years; Saturn Outlook models from the 2009 to 2010 model years
Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative
Tue, 29 Oct 2013How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
