Here it is bidders the Car that started the Roar of the 60's. The 1964 GTO thats right the original muscle car. Offered is one very fine documented example of pure muscle. Currently owned by the 3rd owner who helped finish the 2nd owners frame off restoration that was started in the mid to late 80's. This car is very close or is a #3 and wouldn't take much TLC to make it into a #4. The body is straight as an arrow and was painted the orignal Nocturne Blue Lacquer and as you can see from picture #24 it is very deep, you can also see the only blemish on any off the trim in picture #24 the whheel well trim. Other wise the bumpers and trim are as close to perfect as you can get. There is one off colored spot in the paint by the drives fender and door you can see in picture #9, the hood needs a slight adjustment on the passengerside, but as you can see from the rest of the pictures this car stands tall with a matching numbers 389, tri power,M 20 wide ratio 4 speed four speed confirmed by the PHS documentation. The rear end is a 3.55 saftey trac meaning this car has all the good stuff an investnet car should. The Parchment interior is in great conditon from the head liner to the carpet, the door panel, carpet and headliner have been replaced. Front buckets have been recovered but the rear seat is orignal and is a slightly different shade them the rest of the front seats. There is an in dash tac, park brake light, over head map light and even the under hood light and bracket but the switch is not working and is removed it does come with the car though along with the reverse light switch that has been removed or not reinstalled. Check out the original wheel wells. The spare even has the jack and jack sticker. The owner also added the 1965 style pin stripe to the side of the car as he thinks it bring out the suttle body lines in the car and he also added the factory stock twin exhaust tips I don't have any pictures of the underneath of the car (no rack)its as clean and detailed as the rest of the car. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them for you or I have a bunch of other pictures if you would like to see more just ask and I will e mail them to you. The owner is more than will to let you fly in an inspect the car or have a 3rd party inspect it for you. There is a 500.00 deposit due through paypal with in 48 hours of the auction ending with the balance due with in 7 days of the auctions end. As alway with my auctions the buyer is responible for the arangement and shipping of the car but as long as it payed for we will store the car for up to 30 days. Who ever become the proud owner of this fine muscle car is a very lucky person happy bidding.

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
