I purchased this car about five years ago- It was already restored - however not very well . Since then I have restored it again in the retro mod fashion that I wanted. It has many unique features and looks beautiful

Here are some of the major upgrades:

March serptine belt system ,polished aluminum with water pump from a 69 GTO
"Be Cool" radiator with aluminum flex hoses
Red Optium battery with polished alumin case (uninstalled case)
Electric bucket seats from a 2004 GTO- with customizedand embroidered GTO logo- new GTO floor mats with logo
Back seat has Pontiac embroied Logo between seats. Trunk is completly carpeted with embroided logo.
New headliner, Dash leather cover  . Grant steering wheel, custom turned aluminum panels on 4 speed console
Hurst 4 speed shifter -Custom Hurst knob  Original transmision from factory
Doug headers - Magniflow mufflers, with 2.5 inch pipes, chrome tips from Magnflow
Door panels from 67 GTO (repro)
The engine is the original 389 with only 41,245  miles
Undercarriage has been sprayed with a anti-rust coating ,as well as trunk interior
No rust whatsoever.

Only a few things that need attention:  Gauges need to be reconnected with the exception of the speedometer and fuel gauge. The heater has been removed.
I have  a new radio and speakers retro (Audio Sounds) uninstalled at this time.  I have many of the original parts that were replaced in storage, in case someone wanted to bring it back to original.    Including seats, four new tires, four 1967 Rally II wheels. New buyer must provide transportation. I have the red wheel well moldings from the original GM castings. They only sold 1,300 sets in 1966 but they look very cool when installed (paid $700)

Overall ;a beautiful prize winning muscle car!

Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. The original number was an estimate of that process at the time. Scroll down to the recall report from NHTSA.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
