1972 Pontiac LeMans cloned into a 1970 GTO Judge. Very well done! This is my son's car that we bought last year from a retired Air Force man. He had it cloned into a Judge about 8 years ago, but only restored the body and interior. When we bought it, it needed the running gear rebuilt so we took all the running gear out, rebuilt EVERYTHING, the only thing not replaced is the alternator, power steeriing pump and gear box, and A/C compressor, as they were replaced recently. While the powertrain was out we painted and undercoated the whole undercarriage, replaced every moving part, removed heating and A/C system and rebuilt as needed, removed the interior and dash, installed insulation and rebuilt gauges and wiring, including factory clock. Also rebuilt all window regulators and door handles to work properly and complete new brake system. For the drivetrain, it is not the original motor, but it is a '70 model 400 HO and it was completely untouched. We had it rebuilt completely, every nut and bolt! We had it bored 30 over with flattop pistons and a small cam. The transmission is a turbo 350 completely rebuilt with B & M Shift Kit and a 2000 Stall converter. The driveshaft was balanced and rebuilt, the rear end was completely gone through. As for the rest of the car, it is in very good shape for an 8 year old restore. The paint is very nice with a few blemishes, mainly on the nosecone, which all GTO's have that problem. The interior is almost perfect as you can see by the pictures. The rear fenders were cut out and repaired when the body was done 8 years ago, no signs of rust anywhere. The only thing the car needs is to have the A/C hooked up, the driver's door hinge replaced, and could use new window seals. The car runs and drives perfect, gets a lot of attention, and is fun to drive. I know it's not a true "Judge" but its not $40K plus either. It's a very nice tribute car that anyone would love to have. I have all receipts for the work I've had done to the car. If you have any questions, you can call me at 806-632-8910, my name is Mac. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the sale if the reserve is not met. |

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
