1967 Pontiac Grand Prix on 2040-cars
Cleveland, Mississippi, United States
This is a very straight car with NO rust whatsoever. The car has the original gold paint with a new white vinyl top. The body is straight except for some work done on the rear passenger quarter panel. This car came from a man who got it from his 80 year old father whom had taken really good care of the car through the years. The original 400 engine has been rebuilt throughout and was nicely done as you can see in the pictures, and the transmission shifts perfectly. The Carter carburator was sent off and rebuilt but has a bit of a surge when cruising. It has a new radiator, new heater core, belts and hoses, engine components, new wheel cylinders, new exhaust, new brakes, new shocks and springs (front and rear), and a very tight front end. The FM radio has been sent off and cleaned and tuned by a professional and the TILT column has been reworked by a professional, also. The hidden headlights work perfectly! The passenger side door panel had somewhat of a ripple that took away from the interior of the car so I replaced the front door panels (still have the old ones). I also replaced the carpet because it was faded a bit and dynomat insulation was installed in the floor. The dash and steering wheel have no cracks which tells me that the car has been kept inside as I was told. The fender skirts are perfect with no rust and they fit tightly. Windows go up and down like a new car. It's very obvious that this car has been taken very good care of and probably pampered. I have much, much more in the car than my reserve. Please feel free to call me with questions......662-719-3307.

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod
Fri, 21 Feb 2014There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series
Mon, 10 Mar 2014NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.
