This is a daily driver, it has just over 50k miles, Runs and drives nice. It has 5 BRAND NEW Goodyear tires, New carb, NEW exhaust (dual glass packs) sounds mellow. NEW tune-up with plug wires. NEW chrome air cleaner. Brakes are good, steering is tight, and shocks feel ok.
The body is pretty nice, but does need a little work on a couple rockers, Door bottoms are good. Seats are good but faded, headliner is ok, 2 front door panels are not stock, No radio, Dash pad has some cracks. The windshield is cracked, but not in the wiper area. The floor boards are rusty, but it is drivable. The trunk is rusted pretty bad. It has a few lights not working, not sure what that is, maybe fuse, maybe bulbs. The gas tank leaks, so there is a 5 gal. tank in the trunk with an electric fuel pump, until it is repaired or replaced. I will post more photos when it quits raining. Gordie 906-492-3520 |

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?

General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.

Tue, 21 Feb 2012There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
