Just in time for smmer cruising....  1977 Pontiac Trans Am 6.6 liter coupe.  Looks and runs excellent.  Just turn the key and go.  Odometer shows to be 40,000 miles which I believe to be original to car (exempt on Florida title).  Engine block has been replaced with a YY code Pontiac block from a 1976 Trans Am.  I have a copy of the original build sheet as well as a full PHS information packet and window sticker.

Exterior:
Original color repaint of factory quality.  Blue graphics as shown in photos.  Original Ralley II wheels replaced with nice snowflake wheels.  New BFG tires.  Recently detailed.  Undercarriage excellent condition (dry).
Interior:
Original powder blue interior looks to be original.  No cracks in dash.  A/C and radio are inop.  There is power going to the radio unit, so it may need to be replaced.  I am currently working on getting the A/C system up and running for Florida summer cruising  Has the original AM/FM 8 track stereo.  Gauges are in good working order.  Trunk looks to be all factory original with original spare and covers.
Mechanical:
Original engine block replaced with 1976 Trans Am performance engine (YY code).  Holley double pump carburetor rebuilt.  Edelbrock performer intake manifold.  Timing chain replaced with timing gears.  3.23 rear end ratio - engine performs well, especially at higher RPM's.  Minor oil leak probably due to sitting.  I have been driving this car alot this spring and early summer and it runs and drives excellent.

Any questions, please email me or call at 904-553-8355.  I am happy to assist with shipping both domestic or international.  Asking for a non-refundable deposit of $250 and I will then give you time to arrange inspections or transport.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
