Up for sale is my 1979 Trans Am, 10th Anniversary 4 Speed! I owned this car for 5 years. I'm the third owner. The gentleman who owned it before me had it for over 20 years. The first 120,000 miles were put on it in the first 7 years of its life. I have only put about 4000 miles on it. Currently the original 400 block is not in the car, but WILL be included in the sale. Its located in Dayton and I'll make the arrangements to have the block brought to Little Rock, unless otherwise specified by the winning bidder. The original block is bored 60 over, has new pistons and cam that are all included. The top end was put on the 455 thats in the car now. Newly rebuilt 455 with less than 1500 miles on it. I just drove the car over 600 miles in one day with zero issues!  I have the original buildsheet that was found behind the rear passenger seat.

Pontiac 455 60 over, Butler Performance Rods, Crank, and Pistons. Fresh uncut 6X-4 heads, Ram III Intake, Q-Jet rebuilt by Cliff's High Performance, RARE OS Exhaust Manifolds, PYPES X Pipe and RARE Spintech mufflers. Heads and q-jet off original motor. I do not have the original intake or manifolds, but they are very easy to come by. I have all the A/C components.

New Parts: Brake lines, calipers and pads, master cylinder, parking brake cable, tie rods, center link, ball joints, front sway bar bushings, control arm bushings, front springs (Eibach lowering), all shocks (Monroe Sensa-Trac), aluminum radiator, distributor, plug wires.

The LEDs on the 8 track dont work but the radio and all its functions work, the passenger side power door lock doesn't work, the headliner will need replaced.

Overall this car is in good shape. Doors close nicely, T-Tops are in good shape. It was repainted about 10 years ago with new graphics. The hood bird is in great shape. This is not a show car but with very little work could be. Paint has chips. I would rate the paint/body 7 out of 10. Please feel free to call for more details.

2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am

Mon, 13 May 2013

No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
