1979 PONTIAC 6.6 WITH A 403. CAR IS AN AUTOMATIC. IT RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT WITH ONLY 59,000 MILES. I BELIEVE IT IS 59,000 ORIGINAL MILES BECAUSE OF ITS CONDITION. CAR IS EXTREAMLY CLEAN. THE WHOLE UNDERNEATH OF THE CAR WAS ALL WIRE WHEELED SANDED AND PAINTED WITH HIGH GLOSS INDUSTRIAL PAINT. THE IS NO UNDERCOATING TO HIDE RUST OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE AS WELL FOR ITS AGE. THE MOTOR IS COMPLETELY STOCK AND RUNS AMAZING, HOLDS A GOOD IDLE AND ALWAYS STARTS RIGHT UP. THE TRANS SHIFTS GOOD TOO. I BELIEVE THE CAR WAS A ORIGINAL YELLOW CAR BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE WHERE SOME OF THE RED PAINT IS CHIPPING OFF IN THE FENDER WELLS REVIELING THE YELLOW PAINT UNDERNEATH. I HAVE SUCH CONFIDENCE IN THE CAR I WOULD DRIVE IT ANYWHERE IN COUNTRY. THE PAINT IS PRESENTABLE BUT NOT SHOW QUALITY. WITH A LITTLE WORK THE CAR COULD BE A SHOW WINNER WITH A NEW PAINT JOB AND LITTLE ODDS AND ENDS. THE BRAKES WORK GOOD AND ARE ABOUT 80 PERCENT. THE A/C COMPRESSOR IS CURRENTLY TAKEN OFF IN IN THE TRUNK. IT NEEDED A NEW LINE WHICH I NOW HAVE AND IS READY TO BE RE-INSTALLED. YOU WILL NEED IT TO BE CONVERTED OVER FROM R-12 TO R-134. IT IS PART OF MY COLLECTION BUT I NOW HAVE TO GET RID OF BECAUSE IN ORDER FOR ME TO BUY MY NEW HENNESSEY GRAND SPORT CORVETTE MY WIFE TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO GET RID OF 3 OF MY CARS. THE VETTE IS SITTING IN MY BUILDING AND NOW SHE HAS BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT ME NOT HOLDING UP TO MY END OF THE DEAL. I LOVE THIS TRANS AM BUT IT HAS TO GO. IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAR OR WOULD LIKE TO COME LOOK AT IT FEEL FREE TO CALL ME 352-601-0548 MY NAME IS CRAIG I AM ALSO GOING TO BE SELLING A 1999 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE 6SPD HIGH PERFORMANCE MODS AND A 1995 CAMARO Z28 CONVERTIBLE AS WELL. I HAVE SOLD MANY CARS ON EBAY OUT OF MY COLLECTION AND HAVE GREAT FEED BACK THE MOST RECENT WAS MY DODGE VIPER.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction
Mon, 01 Aug 2011For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
