Up for sale is a real Y84 Special Edition Pontiac Trans Am. Only 1107 Special edition's were built and this one
only has 62,714 original miles. It is a Authentic Bandit Trans Am and this car is nice.
The paint is it's original and nice, but it is getting thin on the top of the drivers front fender. All decals and graphics are also
the originals and look good. The door windows are power and work as they should but the windshield dose have a few
very small chips. (hard to see) The hatch roof's are also very nice and the original hatch roof bags that came
with the car are in the trunk. The BF Goodrich tires are older but look good and it has it's original code N90
gold cast wheels. The spare is the space saver that came with and has never been on the ground. The car runs
strong, shifts nice and clutch is smooth. The engine compartment could use a detail although very original. The
interior is like new, showing very little ware if any. Dash and gauges are bright with no signs of aging as are the
seats, front and rear, also carpeting and other interior parts. It of cores has the M21 4 speed transmission with
code D55 floor center console, AM FM Stereo tape with Tri-Band CB radio and dual rear speakers. The car also has
rear window defogger, power door locks, tilt steering column, air conditioning, rear stabilizing bars, 323 ratio
axle, posi rear axle, J65 4 wheel disk brakes, L78 400 V8 with 4 bbl., WS6 spec perf pkg, W72 performance pkg, and

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
