1979 Trans AmRed, T-Tops, 455 There are way too many new parts on this car to list in the ad. I'll do my best to hit the most important things. If you have questions about anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask.  The 455 engine block was completely reworked by a professional engine builder with all new premium parts  not limited to, but including Holly Carb, Edelbrock intake. It runs and sounds amazing. Very reliable. I have no problems driving the car any distance. It has a new 373 rear end.  The interior has been professionally done with newly recovered seats, new console, new dash cap, new headliner, new door panels, new package tray, New stereo system, Power windows, The T-tops are tight and do not leak. The exhaust new -Flowmaster series. The only rust I found on the car was a small spot in the floor pan, so I had the floor pans professionally fiberglassed and also added soundproofing material at that time. All new AC system. It was painted by the previous owner. The paint isn't quite "show" quality, but as you can see in the pictures, it looks really good. It gets many looks and comments when I have it out..The original snowflake wheels were professionally restored and new B.F. Goodrich radial TA tires added. This is a very nice Trans am. I planned to keep it forever, but with one child in college, and another starting college soon, regretfully I need to sell my toy. I have a lot more invested in the car than what I'm asking. The pictures really don't do the car justice. If you are close enough, come out and see it in person. Good luck bidding. You won't be disappointed.

Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
