This 1980 Trans Am has 80,000 original miles and still has the original paint, interior, engine and transmission. This is a great driving car that has been kept all original which is almost impossible to find on this generation of Trans Am. The paint on the car looks great it is getting thin on the tops of the fenders, roof and deck lid but it shines up great and gets tons of attention. It has 5 door dings around on the car but there is no damage on the body of the car. The interior is all original and is in good condition the dash has no cracks, the driver seat is fading and shows some wear but no holes; the carpet has a small hole on the driver side where your heel sits. The motor runs great and the transmission shifts out perfectly; it does have a rear main seal leaking. The car has factory A/C but the air does not blow cold. The glass on the car is in great condition and the T- tops are perfect for a summer drive. The T-tops come with factory bags. I just had the valve cover gaskets replaced and put a new set of plugs and wires on it. It has brand new BFG's and you can see in the pictures I have had the snowflake wheels redone and they look perfect. I have owned this Trans Am for ten years and it has never spent a night outside or in the rain it is always garage kept!!! If you are looking for a great Trans Am that has not been modified then you have found a great one here. The car is super tight and is tons of fun to drive I just don't have the time to drive this American Legend and hate to see it just sitting in the garage. Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series
Mon, 10 Mar 2014NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.
