You can view 87 HIGH RESOLUTION pictures of this car HERE!

This vehicle has been documented from day one, literally down to wiper blades and oil changes. Photos of paperwork are included in the 87 pictures at the link at the top and bottom of this listing. This vehicle is numbers matching (body panels/windows/wheels/drivetrain). The car has had a previous restoration so the paint is not original, but still in real nice shape. There is no rust under this vehicle and very little rust overall, the worst spot being behind the drives side rear wheel (picture in link). The quarter panel can easily be saved if you choose to fix but it never really bothered me enough to respray. The car is garage kept (and always has been) so it does not see water besides washes. Rocker panels are very good and other general problematic areas are solid as well.

The engine runs very well and starts right up, even on cold says. Transmission shifts smoothly and all gauges work as they should. No leaks, no burning oil, fluids are correct. Recent documented tuneup, brakes, tires and cat converter. This car passed NJ inspection with no problems and is still currently inspected.  Interior is in very nice shape as well. Period correct Kenwood cassette player has been installed as well as period correct pioneer speakers and amplifier. This is a 4 speaker option car. Radio can be converted back to original with ease as all wiring is still oem and correct. I will include the oem rear speaker grills as well with the sale.

The only thing this car really needs is a new belt for the Air Conditioning, Inner hood insulation some new weather stripping for doors (do not leak, just getting old) and a new front right bumper grill as it had cracked when I was washing the car. All in these parts will cost you about $200 to $300 depending on if you get them new or used. The car has a clean title and it is in hand with no liens. If you are looking for a great show winning car that you can drive every weekend and enjoy the way a muscle car is meant to be enjoyed, this is the one for you. It is garage kept, but not a garage queen.

Hagerty rates these cars in very fair/poor condition at just under 10k to upwards of 40k in perfect condition. The insurance appraiser put this car right around 22k, as it was repainted and has small body issues, but remains all original in all other aspects ad far as body/interior and drivetrain. I am listing the car for only 7000 with no reserve!

My name is Steve and I can be contacted anytime with questions at 908-361-3616 or via ebay message. I can send you any pictures you need or any information you may want, that way you are comfortable bidding. HERE!

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.

David Hasselhoff's own KITT replica up for auction

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

Depending on when and where you grew up, the name David Hasselhoff likely conjures up images of Knight Rider, Baywatch, pop singer, or possibly a washed-up TV actor, but one thing that can never be taken away from The Hoff is his connection to one of the greatest automotive icons in pop culture. The Knight Industries Two Thousand, usually shortened to simply KITT, was the real star of Knight Rider for many fans. Based on a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the car combined snarky quips for comedy relief and stunts to provide much of the show's actions. Now, Julien's Auctions is selling Hasselhoff's own replica as part of a larger sale of the actor's personal memorabilia collection.
This recreation is based on a 1986 Firebird and comes with all of the tech on the inside that now seems hilariously outdated, like the yoke steering wheel and plethora of buttons. The interior also thoughtfully includes a voice box with over 4,000 sound clips from the show. With a 5.0-liter V8 and an automatic transmission, performance is likely adequate and period correct. According to the listing, this car was created by fans and given to the Hoff. Sadly, the replica doesn't convert to Super Pursuit Mode like KITT could in later seasons, and we most associate KITT with conventional front-hinged doors to go with the power t-tops and ejector seats.
Bidding currently sits $27,500 with eight bids, since starting at $15,000. Julien's predicts it will sell for between $30,000 and $50,000. If there is some nostalgia for KITT in your heart, there is still plenty of time to bid.

Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. The original number was an estimate of that process at the time. Scroll down to the recall report from NHTSA.
