Normal chips here and there but as you can see from the photos, it's a head turner. Email if you have any specific questions."

I am the second owner of this vehicle and purchased it in 1982. It has always been garage kept and has never been subjected to the elements. Only on occasion has this car seen the rain due to forecast errors. I have loved this car and taken care of it over half of my life. It has always been adult driven by a non smoker. This is a true survivor, with the original motor, transmission, and interior. When I purchased the car in the 80's, I had part of the car painted due to scratches, but the vehicle was never wrecked or damaged. The interior has no burns or rips, and has normal wear. When I purchased the trans am, it had approximately 32,000 miles, and although I have put 30,000+- miles on it since then, I have only driven it less than 1000 miles in the past 15 years.

I do have the full set of factory wheels that came with the car, that will be included with the purchase. I have attached a photo of one of them to indicate the style.

I replaced the turbo back in the mid 90's, but am having trouble locating the paperwork to verify the date. It was repaired locally, but the parts were from GM. I have not had issues since. The motor was not touched other than the turbo. NUMBERS MATCHING. I have repaired small items along the way such as interior light, door handle, etc, but 99%+- is all original.

I will not ship, hold, or store the car after the sale. A non refundable deposit of $500.00 must be received within 48 hours of the end of auction, and full payment must be received within 7 days of end of auction. There is a bank near my house, and we will meet there to exchange title for full payment. Cash is the most reliable, but my bank will have to accept any form of payment, other than cash. You will be responsible for hauling, loading or shipping the vehicle. Although I am not hiding anything and due to this being a 33+ year old car, there will be no warranty given or implied. Please read the bidding instructions carefully.

I encourage you to ask questions prior to bidding and you will receive honest answers. I hope that it is purchased by someone who has taken care of it as well as I have. I never seem to drive it much and I plan to purchase a larger fishing boat after the sale.

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
