Lakeview, Oregon, United States

Has to go!!!! LOW RESERVE!!!!

A 1981 trans am rebuilt and restored custom, and the right way.Starting with the engine, the pontiac 301 didn't have enough power for my taste so this bad boy has a chevy 350 pony engine under the hood built up right with,

-Perfomance cam shafts, edelbrock
-Performance 4 barrel Carbureter, edelbrock
-Performance exhaust, Magnaflow
-Totally overhauled ignition and starting system (spark plugs, spark plug wires, starter, distributor, etc.)
-Refurbished Drivetrain
-New 400 horse transmission
-New Flexi-lite fan
-Well kept 383 gear ratio rear end
This engine runs very healthy and is tuned right. You can expect at least 400 horsepower out of this beast and speeds of 140 miles per hour. Also, on the other hand, this car is economical , getting 18 miles per gallon on average, even if you have you foot on the gas like I do.Starts up in almost any weather and is a great daily driver.6,000 miles on the motor, just enough to get it broke in. Next the interior has been totally redone with all black leather. Including,
-New Headliner
-New seats (Front and rear)
-New Carpet
-New Door Panels
-etc
The sound system installed in this car includes,
-3" Kenwood speakers in front
-6 by 9 kickers in the back
- Retrosound stereo so you still have the look of an old school stereo but you can listen to all your favorite music off of your ipod or phone.
Finally the exterior has been totally repainted professionally. Acrylic Urethane with a topcoat. All the Chrome trim has been replaced also. All around it is an excellent car, With only 2 red flags if you are looking at buying it
-Fuel gauge is stuck
-right side electric window motor doesn't work
Looks and drives in excellent condition and draws stares everywhere it goes. Contact me by phone or by text at 5412192243 No Paypal offers please. Kelly bluebook and local auto appraisers put the price of this car somewhere between 13 and 17 thousand.

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:

Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.

Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
