Listed is a 1997 Pontiac Trans Am Convertible that has been extensively modified to achieve optimum performance. It is truly an aggressive machine that has been built with a great deal of thought toward creating a complete performance vehicle that runs well on the street as well.

The engine is a supercharged 383 LT-1 stroker motor. We have a complete build sheet but to highlight a few of the goodies, included are a Vortech Centrifugal Supercharger with an aftercooler, a Callies Crank and connecting rods, JE/SRP Forged w/31cc dish pistons and wrist pins, JE Moly File Fit rings, a Comp 224/236 114XE .536/.555 camshaft, Comp 850 lifters, Comp Moly 7.200 pushrods, stock LT-1 heads with REV 1115 valve springs and Crane 1.6 Roller Rockers, MSD Billet Opti-Spark distributor and wires and 36lb.SVO injectors just to name a few of the parts. The computer is a NLP Custome PCM and the clutch is a SPEC Stage 3 CF. The transmission is a T-56, 6 speed using a PRO 5.0 shifter. An aluminum driveshaft was also included with the build. The exhaust system sounds aggressive. It has shortie headers and a SLP Engineering  'Loudmouth' exhaust system form the catalytic converter back. The suspension has lowering springs and uses Koni shocks. The front end uses BMR Components including upper 'A' arms and the Track Pac, and trailing arms. The Trans Am also uses BMR sub-frame connectors. Lots of torque here! The engine compartment has many dress up items some of which are not shown in  our pics and simply laid in place at shows for display currently They are included with the car.
The Trans Am has about perfect paint and is finished in Cayenne Red Metallic. The hood was changed to a Ram Air version to give the car a more aggressive look. The Ram Air is not functional as the Trans Am is supercharged. The original hood will be included in the sale. The convertible top is Tan and is in excellent condition.  This car has always been garaged. No problems that I see. The rims are 17" Cobra 'R' replicas with Trans Am emblems. To stop this machine, SSBC Force 10 disc brakes and calipers were added to the build.
The interior is tan and ebony and features leather seats. You feel as if you are in a cockpit of a jet rather than a car when you sit here. The only real change from stock in the interior was the addition of a Fuel Pressure and Boost gauges to the drivers side windshield pillar All, is very clean with no damages whatsoever. Included are a mesh windscreen that covers the back seat and the back of the drivers and passengers seats and a 3 piece ebony plastic convertible boot. Both of these accessories include storage cases when not in use. Also I should mention that the Trans Am has P/S, PB, PW, A/C, and Power mirrors. Everything works as it should in this Trans Am The autograph on the right fender well inside the engine compartment is hat of Ed Hamberger from SLP Engineering. As Trans Am's go, this one is quite special. This project was well thought out and exceeded the goals of the owner. Family considerations force that difficult decision to let it go, hopefully to someone who appreciates the effort it took to build this very special car. Buyer is responsible for shipping. This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern

Mon, 07 Nov 2011

General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.
