1999 30th Anniversary Pontiac Trans Am WS6
This 30th Anniversary Trans Am has been well maintained and is garage kept.  I have owned this car since 2007. The car is in excellent mechanical and beautiful cosmetic condition.  The oil was replaced every 3,000 miles or less with Royal Purple oil. It has the desirable 6 speed transmission and t-tops.  I just replaced the original blue tinted aluminum wheels with a BRAND NEW set of GM Originals right out of the box! I have the receipt and I bought the last original set that they had in stock and kept them in the box for the past 3 years directly from GM!  This car has been upgraded with a set of long tube headers with cut out paired with MagnaFlow Exhaust (this car sounds absolutely phenomenal).  The car also has an amazing sounding infinity sound system with a custom leather Trans Am sub box which matches the interior perfectly.  Other than the above mentioned items, this car is bone stock and original.  I also have a custom fit California Car Cover for the car, which is included with this listing.

I am a Trans Am collector and fanatic that takes exceptional care of my cars and am sad to see this one go. The only reason I am selling the car is to fund a new business venture, otherwise I would never sell it!  This is a collector edition car that is only going up in value!  If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me directly at jrakoski@yahoo.com or at 240-315-4789. Thank you and good luck bidding!

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
