First things first, this car was in an accident in 2008 and has a rebuilt title. The driver's side door was replaced, other than that the car is absolutely fine. I had the alignment checked and the thrust angle is straight and well within specs (I have the alignment report from Pete's Tire Barn), no issues at all. It drives straight, tracks true and handles like a performance car is supposed to.

This car is clean for 68,200 miles. The paint shines very nicely and all of the graphics/emblems look great! It's a nice looking car that drives great. A definite head turner. There are no dents or dings and all the glass is in great shape. There are a few chip touch ups and such on various spots on the car.

The 5.7 liter 350ci engine with its RAM AIR has no problems at all stretching its legs and sounds great demonstrating its 325hp/350 foot pounds of torque. The engine purrs like a kitten and has a very nice exhaust note. Everything is stock, even the stereo which sounds awesome!

The 6 speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter has no issues at all and shifts flawlessly through all gears. The clutch feels great, doesn't slip or smell and has no problems putting all that torque to the rear wheels. It is fast, strong and fun to drive.

Ok, so what is wrong with the car? There are no spare keys, no door or trunk keys. I have the stock door remote and ignition key. The driver's side headlight motor gear is noisy. I replaced the motor in November but I must have got a bad rebuilt motor from AutoZone. The lights go up and down with no problems, the driver's side headlight motor is just noisy. I will be more than happy to explain the design flaw and how to permanently fix it if you buy the car. One of the ashtray cover attach points are broken so the cover will pop off if you are not careful.

Everything works as advertised; the AC blows ice cold, the 275/40ZR17 Eagle F1 tires have tons of meat on them, the stock Monsoon stereo sounds fantastic, power windows and power trunk work. The brakes have plenty of meat and stop the car very efficiently. I'll even throw in the blue tooth adapter so you can stream music to the radio without modifying the originality of the car.

The bottom line is that this is a very nice 2002 WS6. I don't need to sell it and I don't have to sell it, I just don't have the time for it that I thought I would. Cars and machines in general do not like to sit around unused. This is the season to enjoy a car like this and I want the right person to enjoy it. There will be no joy rides and proof of license will be required if a test drive is warranted.

The car is legally inspected, registered and insured. I have the title, in my name.

Bank check is required. The car and title will not be released until the bank says the check has cleared and funds have transferred, no exceptions!

The car has no warranty and is sold as is.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. The original number was an estimate of that process at the time. Scroll down to the recall report from NHTSA.
