This is a 1994 Pontiac Trans Am GT. It is equipped with a 5.7 LT-1 engine with six speed manual transmission. It is red with charcoal interior,t-tops,and every option that was available in '94. This car has 27,985 miles on the odometer.
I ordered this car in the fall of 1993 and traded a 1990 IROC convertible towards it. It finally shipped in the spring of 1994. It was ordered in yellow and that color was discontinued so red was my second choice. This car is currently equipped with Corvette ZR1 wheels and BFG tires.275/40/17 and 315/35/17 rear. I installed Edelbrock headers in probably 95 or 96 with about 16K miles. The tires are less than 10K miles. It has a Procharger intercooled supercharger installed and used to run like a bat out of hell! I have several polyurethane bushings throughout and a few Hotchkiss suspension pieces.I have the original wheels and tires and suspension pieces still on hand that go with the car. I have all the manuals and papers that came with it originally. I personally put every mile on this car.It has been out of the state of Kentucky once in its life.I built a house 10 years ago and put it in storage and it has basically been there ever since. It has been kept inside and under a car cover since that time. I do get it out on occassion and drive it and change the oil. I have room to keep it for another 20 years and its obviously paid for but I know I will not drive it and enjoy it enough to keep it any longer.I would love for it to go to someone that will love it and appreciate it as much as I have.It runs and drives but although it doesnt run like it used to,I know it just needs freshened up and driven to be back to its glory. For this reason I would recommend a trailer to pick it up on for safety sake. It has the original brakes and clutch from GM still intact. This car is a time capsule with perfect body and interior. No tinted windows. It has been registered and licensed every year since new and should show in the history report. I will help to make any arrangements necessary to ship this car on my end. I have pictures of the manuals I will add as soon as I locate it.

Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. The original number was an estimate of that process at the time. Scroll down to the recall report from NHTSA.

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.

Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.
