I purchased this Vibe in Orlando when it had about 30,000 and the car is now in our garage in The Villages retirement village 55 miles NW of Orlando.  My wife had this registered for about 2 years and now we have found another Vibe with the 1.8 engine with 120,000 miles.  We do not drive my wife's car much in Florida for the 6 months we are there ( a golf cart community) and we do not need the larger engine.  I am 72 years old and a semi-retired car dealer.

The car is in excellent condition.  As many people know the resale on Vibes is very strong because they have the Toyota engine and transmission. Many people are getting 200,000 miles or more out of these Vibes.  We enjoy driving a Vibe very much----ideal for Florida driving around the retirement area.  The front 2 tires are almost new ----rear are 80% worn and should be replaced.  Interior is very nice.  Small dent below the driver's mirror. A year ago my wife was driving through Leesburg and a piece of wood flew up and cracked the headlight lens and the plastic back of of the mirror which have been replaced.  The wood also made a very small dent below the mirror which we never repaired because it is hardly noticeable.

The average wholesale now in the USA today for this car with 50,000 miles is about $9,900  ----------- I feel the retail price today is between $10,900 and $12,000.  We are going to start the car at $9,500.

The Villages, Florida where we live in the winter is 55 miles from Orlando and there is a shuttle running to our area from the Orlando airport 6-8 times/day at the cost of $35/person.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
