1957 Porsche 356 on 2040-cars
Keene, California, United States
More infos regarding my car at: ashtonaccanfield@ukcentre.com .
A rare opportunity to purchase a much loved 1957 Vintage Porsche 356 Speedster Replica. This vehicle is an exact
replica and has been confused on numerous occasions, including enthusiasts shows for the real thing and is
indistinguishable in every way.
This speedster has the upgraded 1915cc engine with dual Weber carbs (most out there today only have the basic
1600cc engine). This also has the additional tonneau cover, authentic badges etc.
We also installed the optional front disc brakes. This car has been cared for lovingly and is in mint condition
with very low mileage. This is your opportunity to purchase a once in a lifetime work of motoring art that drives
better than the original and has a fraction of the ownership cost, and price of the real thing.
If you wish to own a classic car then this is the one to have, made famous by celebrities and race enthusiasts the
world over, this car was originally owned by a well known authentic motoring garage here in California and was
continually mistaken for the $300,0000 real thing. Every attention to detail has been incorporated to make this
exact, right down to the original Nardi steering wheel, badges, gear lever, lights and grilles. This car even comes
with a personalized yellow and black tag plate. Finished in original Porsche Blue with cream leather and blue
piping, with blue carpet and matching blue hood.
Sadly need stop go to make room for kids toys in the garage and will be a sorely missed member of the family that
has given many hours of enjoyment! First to see will most definitely buy!

NHTSA closes probe into 2011 Porsche 911 coolant leaks
Thu, 13 Mar 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that it will end its investigation into rapid coolant loss in 24,635 Porsche 911s built between 2001 and 2011. The models affected included the standard 911, GT2, GT3 and Turbo, as well as their variants (GT2 RS, GT3 RS and Turbo S).
NHTSA was investigating for "rapid coolant loss caused by coolant pipe-fitting failure, allegedly resulting in vehicle disablement and/or loss of vehicle control due to reduced traction for the affected vehicle or following traffic," according to the regulators website. "Most of the leak complaints did not appear to involve complete separation of the fittings and many were detected when the vehicle was parked," said NHTSA's statement.
There were 63 complaints and 336 warranty claims, although the investigation was initiated after ten complaints from customers. There have been no reports of crashes or injuries attributed to rapid coolant loss.
VW confirms development of 10-speed dual clutch, 134-hp/liter diesel
Fri, 26 Apr 2013Each year, the Vienna International Motor Symposium showcases some of the up-and-coming technologies automakers are engineering for the use in passenger cars, and Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn revealed some big developments VW is working on for its future products. Winterkorn discussed a multi-faceted approach that VW is looking to reduce its fleet fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
Some of the bigger news he discussed included a "high-performance" diesel engine that will produce 134 horsepower per liter and a 10-speed DSG automatic transmission. While no specific applications were mentioned, we can only hope this is for the Audi R4 we keep hearing about.
Another topic he touched on that caused us to perk up our ears was had to do with VW's plug-in hybrid technology. While we know the PHEV versions of the Audi A3 and Porsche Panamera are on the way, Winterkorn also said that these two models will be followed up by Golf, Passat, Audi A6 and Porsche Cayenne plug-in models. Scroll down for a press release highlighting the automaker's future fuel-saving initiatives.
