1957 Porsche Speedster 356 on 2040-cars
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
Sub Model: SPEEDSTER
Model: 356
Year: 1957
The example offered is a fine testament to the original Classic Speedster build and quality. Lovingly maintained and sparingly used since built, this car has traveled less than 7,000 miles, and less than 500 miles since we have owned it. It is finished in beautiful black trimmed with red interior and gray carpeting with black honeycomb floor mats with grey trim. .
Porsche produced fewer than 3,000 356 Speedsters total. Originals are harder to find and their prices are soaring into six-figures.
The Classic Speedster come with a dual carb 'Super' engine tuned to about 1850cc (not documented, but as presented to me, and believable when driving). She may not be the prettiest looking motor but she is solid and dependable. The engine originated in a '73 Super Beetle. With the relative feather light curb weight (approx 1585 lbs) of this car, and additional HP, it simply flies. With the near 50/50 weight distribution (46/54 to be exact), the handling is incredible as well. The car was built on the (modified to spec) clean chassis of a 1967 Volkswagen, and is titled (clear Nevada title) as such. This keeps insurance rates incredibly reasonable!
Car was freshly painted on November 1st, 2012 in a Dupont chromabase 2 stage black, it was color sand and polished as you can see in photos. Interior was completely redone, new trunk carpet kit, new side mirror, rearview mirror, tail lights, bumpers, all coming from Vintage Speedster. Engine has been completely gone through by Meyers Volkswagen and Porsche, who has been locally servicing Porches since 1978. The only thing not working on the car is the odometer which as not worked since I purchased the car. I spoke to Hollywood Speedometers and was quoted $120.00 to fix it. Porsche was just fitted with all new Yokohama tires, size 185/60/15, new front disc brakes. All new bushings in the transmission, new clutch cable, new coil. Porsche does not have any windows or top.
Call 702-755-8180 for more information, to discuss, make an appointment to see the car in person, or make an offer on the car. I will consider any reasonable offers but please no low ballers. Car is also listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction anytime for outside sale. Likewise, if you are interested in a "Buy it Now" arrangement, I can add the element to the auction upon the agreement of the sale price. This offers both parties use of the eBay accountability system.
I encourage all potential buyers to come and inspect the car in person prior to buying. Feel free to call me with any questions. Car is sold AS IS, WHERE IS. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. Please only serious buyers. Finally fee free to call me at 702-755-8180 for any further questions.

Magnus Walker soliloquizes in his Porsche 911 at night
Fri, 23 Aug 2013Magnus Walker, a prolific Los Angeles clothing designer who has also carved out a respected spot for himself in Porsche world, has had yet another video made about him and his sizable Porsche collection. In this latest video, Hong Kong-based Obscura magazine focuses its video cameras on Walker and his 1971 Porsche 911 track car (yes, the one that appeared on Jay Leno's Garage) as he speeds around Downtown LA and Little Tokyo late at night.
We've heard Walker's story many times before. He's not like the average Porsche owner, perhaps a tad more passionate than most, and he builds 911s like he designs clothes: his way. Sure, we might be a little envious, but can you blame us? View this very slick and entertaining nighttime video entitled Disturbing The Peace below.
2015 Porsche Cayenne spotted with facelift
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Although it's only been a few years since the current Porsche Cayenne was introduced, Porsche seems to be working on a midcycle update for its big SUV possibly in time to welcome the smaller Macan. As seen in these recent spy shots, it looks like the Cayenne will be getting a minor face- and butt-lift, but it's hard to say what other changes are in store or when the updated model will hit showrooms.
Up front, expect the Cayenne's new face to resemble what was just revealed on the 2014 Panamera, and we could also see this SUV using some of the new engines introduced on the Panamera including the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 or maybe even the E-Hybrid model. We're guessing that the new Cayenne could debut sometime next year likely for the 2015 model year. In the meantime, check out the gallery of spy shots above.
Porsche teams with Delta airlines to woo VIP passengers
Sun, 15 Sep 2013The next time you're waiting for a flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, see if you can spot a Porsche Cayenne or Panamera zipping between aircraft on the busy tarmac. The high-performance German vehicles aren't there practicing for an upcoming autocross; they are tasked with whisking some of the airline's most important customers between flights so they can keep their busy schedules intact.
Launched nearly two years ago, the program has proven popular with the automaker, airline and passengers as all benefit from the unique arrangement. Atlanta-based Porsche is able to showcase its cars to Delta's frequent-flying Medallion members, the airline is recognized for providing unusual perks to its high-value customers and those fortunate enough to be surprised with a quick lift are able to make connections without a stressful run through the terminal. Based on its success, the airline is rolling our similar programs in New York, Los Angeles and Minneapolis this month.
And don't think Porsche is the only automaker working with an airline to entice its frequent flyers. Mercedes-Benz ran a program over the summer that offered purchasing and leasing incentives to MileagePlus Premier members of United Airlines, and the two are currently shuttling top fliers around Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport in the automaker's S-Class and GL-Class models.
