1975 porsche 911 s. lots of details. will try to list as best as I can
this car was parked by previous owner in 1995. it was parked in a controlled environment no rain sun etc.
I purchased the car in january of 13. took it to a porsche mechanic and he started working on it
here is a list of what he did
10.5 hours labor removed timing chain covers and inspect tensioners. replace mechanical tensioners with used ones. removed valve covers check cylinder head torque and adj valves check exhaust valve guide for wear resurface and clean valve covers and replaced gaskets. replaced rear deck strut. replaced front struts for front hood. replace alternator belt install pop off valve check compression replace spakr plugs changed oil with additive
compression is as follows cylinder 1 140 2 was 125 3 was 130 4 was 130 5 was 125 6 was 135 keep in mind this is after it was sitting for around 18 years. I have driven the car 1500 miles since this procedure. it runs great. but this was the ppi at that time. in march
3.0 hours remove test and clean fuel injectors remove clean test and re calibrated warm up regulator lube accelerator linkage pivot points at pedal assy bell housing and top of engine
1.5urs labor charging system. replaced alternator and voltage regulator
3.4 remove and rebuild rear brake calipers. flush and replenish brake fluid
1.5 labor remove ac compressor and brackets smog pump and bracket and plumming replaced fuel sender
that bill was nearly 2800 dollars labor and parts.
also replaced with a new fuel tank. and 4 new tires. 205 60 15 falkens. cleaned and replaced fuel lines that needed replaced
so all the parts were replaced and have been driing the car for 1500 miles it starts runs drives. performs great and stops great
this is a great car I just have too many cars. thinning the heard a little.
the car was d escribed in detail on pelican porsche dot com and I had a lot of help. I was told it was a silver anniversary edition
but I never sent the paperwork in the have it verified. so that is up to the new owner. if it sells.
This porsche has been here in the valley for years. it supposedly was wrecked at the front end at one time. the chin in the front was hit and it was repaired. but it was repaired badly the crinkled spots are right behind the old gas tank. and in the front corner and the front chin. there is a spot back by the deck lid where there was some repair done as well. I didn't think it was that bad. but it did get hit at one point. the car tracks nicely so I don't think anything was done to any of the steering or anything.
I was given this whale tail. and I installed it. it wasnt realy fun to line the holes up that I had to drill. but it is installed and I am including the original engine cover if you desire. if you choose to take the whale tail off. there will need to be some holes fixed. as I had to drill some to get it to fit. I am including the air compressor and extra stuff like condenser etc. that I took off. I wanted this to run as cool as possible. so I took it off
I have a gently set of used rear shocks and brand new set of front ones. that should fit. the rears are billstein and the front ones were ordered to fit into the front. but they are not installed. but they need to be
windshield wipers work. headlights and all other lights work. wiper fluid workes but the headlight wiper fluid won't spray. needs a motor
the issues I am having with thie car are... the sunroof worked then didnt. it was a fuse was dirty. so I got it fixied again. worked perfect. now it doesn't suspect a fuse or something. as the motor was checked and it was fine. we replaced a sunroof switch as well
hot restart. being that I replaced the warm up regulator and the fuel accumilator. after a long ride. you need to have the hand accelerator lifted as to give it gas. this works on a hot restart every time. if you don't it will just crank. kind of confusing why. but I replaced lots of stuff to fix that particular problem. new fuel pump and the check valve is fine. etc.
all in all I have put tons of money into the car in only a few short months that I have owned it. I love it. but I have a 39 chevy coupe and a 67 camaro and need to sell one of my toys. if it doesn't sell. oh well I tried.. ha! sold as is where is. no warranty
was told it had a repaint at some point. it has some flaws knicks and rock chips. but it is nice. could use a new paint job.
blaupunkt stereo works perfectly. am fm radio. was told the rear speakers were an add on? the interior speaks for itself. back has a couple little areas where mice ate some fabric unfortunately. the passenget seat is starting to become unstitched doen the middle. horn works all windows work. glass all seems fine. another area is the engine it will leak out of the valve cover when sitting a little. and right onto the exhaust. smells a little. was told I needed some 930 valve covers. that would fix it> but I didn't. nice s teering wheel. wooden with a name etched into the front side. nice ride. gauges work as far as I can tell. new fuel sending unit. so fuel gauge works. spedo is funny. it wont register until about 20 mph then it is fast. example at 80 mph it records 90 mph the car handles really nice at speeds of 90 and I wont say how fast I had it. but it is always handled great. dash looks great. oh in the passenger foot area. I don't know why. but the panel was cut and I think someone was trying to access the rear of the front compartment? pics to follow. it is covered up. and back 2 speakers work. and the fron one is disconnected and one is missing.
this is not a show car. but It is nice and a real head turner. please don't expect a show car for what I am asking. ask all questions and I will see if I can get a video of the car running. I can text a video. but don't know how to add a video here. let me know if anyone has any questions ok? thanks and good luck
thought of a couple more things. it has a tool kit. rear view mirror fell off. it is included. and the tranny shifts into all 5 gears and reverse. the porsche seems to work better if it is fully warmed up. if I take off and the car is cold it seems harder to shift. especially going from first to second. when I hit the clutch it wants to switch gears quick. and sometimes it is hard to find third. but minimally when it is warmed up for some reason.

First-ever Porsche headed home to company museum
Wed, 29 Jan 2014About 30 years before Ferdinand Porsche designed the Volkswagen Beetle, he created the Egger-Lohner electric vehicle, C.2 Phaeton model - or simply, the P1 - you see above. This was the first vehicle created by Porsche, and the car gets its nickname from the fact that he had stamped "P1" on many of the parts marking it as the first Porsche... sorry, 356 No. 1.
Now while you'd think that such an important piece of Porsche heritage has been in a museum or even the automaker's not-so-secret lair, it has actually been sitting at a warehouse for the last 112 years. Thankfully, that's all about to change as Porsche has recovered P1, and the car will soon be on "permanent display" at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
The P1 has a 3 horsepower motor capable of delivering a top speed of 21 miles per hour and a driving range of 49 miles, and, like many vehicles in Porsche's history, the motor is positioned at the rear of the vehicle. According to the press release posted below, the P1 finished first in a 24-mile electric vehicle race in Berlin in 1899, but it has been sitting since 1902.
Porsche again staring down another $1.8B in hedge fund lawsuits
Wed, 15 May 2013The sequence of events from 2007 that began with Porsche's secret attempt to take over Volkswagen, and instead lead to Porsche being taken over by VW, continues to instigate lawsuits against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. A group of hedge funds that suffered over $1 billion in losses sued the car company in New York. Porsche had publicly stated it wasn't trying to buy VW, the hedge funds in question were shorting VW stock, and when Porsche's actual intentions were revealed, the stock shot up and the hedge funds took a beating.
The case was thrown out over the issue of jurisdiction, then appealed, only to see another suit filed on top of that. After that, most of the hedge funds withdrew their claims in New York and Porsche offered a 90-day window to refile in Germany where it is already fighting a number of other suits over the same issue. The hedge funds accepted the offer, refiling in Stuttgart for $1.8 billion in damages. According to Bloomberg, Porsche hasn't commented on the refiling, but as the same plaintiffs are involved, it's safe to assume that the carmaker still feels the case is "unsubstantiated and without merit." It has fared alright so far even in German courts, with two lesser cases against it thrown out last year.
Studiotorino shows new Cayman-based Moncenisio sports car
Mon, 24 Mar 2014While the recent bankruptcy of Bertone shows that it has become very difficult to be a coachbuilder today, it seems there is still a business case in creating unique bodies for premium vehicles. Case in point, Studiotorino a small, Italian coachbuilder that has been creating limited-edition cars since 2005. Its latest creation is the Moncenisio, which debuted as a prototype at the National Automobile Museum of Turin on March 21. It's named after the 1902 Susa-Moncenisio race in Italy, the first automotive hillclimb in the world.
The Moncenisio begins life as Porsche Cayman S, and each car will be built to order with a planned production run of 19 examples. The chassis, mechanicals and engine are all left untouched. The only thing that Studiotorino alters are the body panels and interior appointments. Prices start at at a heady 145,000 euros ($200,420 US), plus the cost of the donor vehicle.
Architect Daniele Gaglione penned the shape of the Moncenisio, taking inspiration from the 1963 Porsche 904. The sports coupes receive carbon fiber pieces that replace the front bumper, side panels and rear bumper. Studiotorino also covers the rear side windows with welded metal panels. The design is still clearly a Cayman, especially from the front, but the extended roof and support pillars create a new look from behind, which features a new exhaust treatment and rear spoiler. The interior receives leather upholstery on the engine compartment cover, the partition between the engine and seats, ceiling and A-pillars. Scroll down to view a walkaround of the Moncenisio and read the full press release about it.
