1977 Porsche 911 Carrera  3.0  Euro Model it has been sitting for 7 years in a garage not driven  in Florida. I purchased it a few months ago from the wife of the man who owned the car since 1988 he passed away, I  do not know much about these Porsche 911 but i always wanted one to keep and enjoy,  I was told that it is all factory equipped, ,except the ac system, orig engine,  transmission, Interior, and orig exhaust system. It has power windows, 5 speed trans, after market ac does not work,  I changed the the oil, fuel pump, and fuel filter, and put 10 gallons of premium  gas with a can of sea foam to clean  the injectors but it still needs a tune up it smokes a little .I do not see any oil or transmission leaks. The interior is all orig but the seats are torn and the dash has a cracks on it. The car was repainted 15 years ago and did not hold up it has  blemishes and scratches on it and paint is chipped of the trunk area  and would need it painted again. The body has no rust and was never in an accident. The tires are dry rotted and need to be replaced  It runs and drives but have not driven it very long It shifts in all 5 speeds and brakes well, I wanted to try to keep it and have it restored but can no longer due so  this time.  If you want to inspect it or have any other questions call me any time DO NOT TEXT I will not reply, 954-304-2008     at 954-304-2008

Watch the incredibly complicated operation of Porsche's new targa roof

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Despite Porsche having claimed the name, targa tops are nothing new. In addition to the semi-roofless version of the 911, plenty of cars in the past have used removable roof panels - the new Corvette Stingray has one (as have prior generations), and this type of open-air experience has been available on past vehicles like the Pontiac Solstice Coupe and Honda Civic del Sol.
But when Porsche took the top off its brand new 911 Targa here at the Detroit Auto Show, it was indeed cause for pause. Simply put, this is one of the most complicated and intricate electronic roof panel removal techniques we've ever seen, save perhaps, for the setup found on the Japanese-market Civic del Sol from the 1990s.
We won't spoil the video for you, but basically, rather than just the roof panel coming off, the entire rear glass area lifts away the body in order for the small section over the passenger compartment to slide back. This has to be incredibly expensive to repair once it inevitably breaks. And we highly doubt you'll be able to operate this mechanism at any speed.

This Porsche 356 family keeps it outlaw

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

Rod Emory was the founder of Emory Motorsports in Burbank, CA, and the scion to a family tradition of building "outlaw" Porsches that are almost as cool as the cars themselves. The lovingly modified Porsche 356s are lovely artifacts, and their story, along with the story of their builders, is pitch-perfect for the Petrolicious oeuvre of beloved classics.
Tune in for the history lesson, and then stick around for the car candy.

2014 Porsche Cayman S

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

A Blue-Blooded Valentine
I need you to understand what it's like to drive this car. I'm not talking about your ability to comprehend the words on this page or process the figures that surround the 2014 Porsche Cayman S, but rather what it feels like to take control of a car conceived, designed, engineered and manufactured to set your prefrontal cortex alight with all the glee a Zippo typically reserves for pine needles marinated in jet fuel. From the instant you put your tail in the driver's seat, the Cayman sets about impregnating your veins with a full and varied spectrum of ludicrous emotion. It's not like taking the family pickup to market, I can tell you that much.
For 2014, the next-generation Cayman features many of the same styling tweaks first displayed on the coupe's drop-top cousin, the Boxster, though a spate of mechanical changes, more power, less weight and better efficiency join the party to further differentiate this model from its predecessor. And while additions like rev-matched downshifts and electronic power steering help push the Cayman into a new era, one fact remains unchanged: This is one of the best driving cars on the market. Period. Bear with me and I'll try to explain exactly why that is.
