1980 911 with upgraded 1987 911 3.2
Car shows 39,394 miles on the odometer but it stoped working before I bought the car so it  is imposible to know exactly how many miles it has. Speedometer and all other gages work great. If I had to guess the car has less than 80,000 miles because of the way it drives very tight and smooth. Brakes and rotors are new. Tires have less than 2,000 miles. There is no rust on this car that I can see. AC is not working due to the compressor and rear condesor is not installed in the car but I have them both and will come with the sale if you wish to put them in the car and make the AC work again.

PAINT was redone this year with the orginal color that it came with from factory SILVER. There are a few minor flaws or imperfections on the paint but you would have to look very close to find them.

Engine is out of a 1987 PORCHE 911 CABRIO that was totaled due to a tree falling on it, please see pictures attached 1987 engine had 54,642 miles on it when i purchased it from a very respected PORCHE used parts dealer in PA called WEEKEND RIDES and put it in the car. You can call him to verify miles on the engine if you wish. Currently Engine should have less than 57000 miles on it due to I only drive the car on some weekends and not very offten I have had the car for less than a year. The engine is stock except for intake filter which is not stock. It also has 1987 upgraded  oil cooler, car runs nice and cool in the hot Florida weather. There are no leaks on the engine and it runs very smooth and strong.  This car is ready for a coast to coast trip with no problems.

Transmision  shifts smooth through all gears and runs smooth. It has a new clutch and preassure plate.

Interior front seats have some tears on them see pics, they need to be recovered back seat are in good shape. Dash was recovered with a dash cover it looks good but under the cover the dash has a few minor cracks. Carpets are in good shape.  Radio works good along with CD player.

Please feel free to call me with any questions that you may have my name is Hugo TEL # 407 399-1248.

Car is For Sale local so I reserve the right to end auction early if some one buys the car local.

If you do not have a history of bidding with EBAY please do not bid  I will delete your bid. NO SCAMS

New Porsche 4-cyl engines to range from 1.6L to 2.5L

Mon, 02 Jun 2014

Recent rumors of a turbocharged, flat-four-engine from Porsche for the Boxster (pictured testing above), Cayman and maybe other models go back over a year. The latest scuttlebutt indicates that there could be three variants on the horizon with 1.6-, 2.0- and 2.5-liter displacements and power as high as 360 horsepower.
Car magazine in the UK claims to have access to the specifications for the project and thinks the 2.0- and 2.5-liter versions are guaranteed for production for the Boxster and Cayman. However, it believes a question mark still looms over the 210-hp 1.6L because the engine would go into a new, smaller sports car that still doesn't have a green light for production.
Regardless of displacement, the new fours would be turbocharged and direct-injected. The 2.0-liter would produce around 286 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque, and the 2.5-liter would make about 360 hp and 347 lb-ft. Earlier reports pegged some parts sharing with the current flat-six.

'Faster. Farther.' dives into the history of Porsche racing tech

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

No doubt, Porsche has produced some of the best endurance racecars around, such as the turbocharged, slant-nose 935 of the 1970s and the ground-effects-enhanced 956 and 962 of the 1980s. But the company's most famous racecar, its first overall winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, was the 917.
The 917 embodied many of Porsche's technological achievements up to that point, such as the company's first 12- and 16-cylinder engines (the flat-16 was never used in competition), fiberglass bodies that implemented early aerodynamic practices and the use of new, exotic materials, such as magnesium and titanium.
The racecar was commissioned by the head of Porsche Motorsports, Ferdinand Piëch, to win overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970, after he realized a loophole in the rules that allowed cars to compete with engines up to five liters in the Sport category if they were also production models. Piëch saw opportunity: the top prototype class was restricted to three liters; the production minimum to compete in Sport was 25 cars. And so, with much effort, Porsche assembled 25 "production" 4.5-liter 917s and had them parked in a neat line for the race inspectors to verify their legitimacy. It didn't take long before people realized the new Porsches were much faster than the prototype racers, with a top speed approaching 250 miles per hour.

Magnus Walker pops up again, this time with his Irish Green 911

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

He was the subject of a short film called Urban Outlaw. He has been on Jay Leno's Garage. Twice. He even graced the cover of Road & Track in June. And after all of that, he appeared in a video by Hong Kong-based Silly Thing. So it isn't really surprising that Magnus Walker is at the center of attention in the latest video from XCAR, but it's surprising - and a treat - to see his mostly original Irish Green 1966 Porsche 911.
Powered by an air-cooled 2.0-liter flat six with 130 horsepower (more like 120 hp today, Walker says), riding on 5.5-inch wide wheels and turned with a wooden steering wheel, the little green 911 does represent some of the best aspects of classic car motoring.
Head on below to watch the long-form video on Walker and his Porsche, but if your time is limited, you're not missing much if you call it quits at five minutes - especially if you've seen his aforementioned videos before.
