This is a truly exceptional example of a 100% original, extraordinarily maintained, 911SC coupe. Records dating way
back, impeccably serviced, including all requisite updates. Factory whale tail (as per included COA), excellent
original paint, and flawless interior. Looks feels & drives as a brand new 911 SC woulds have. Collector grade car,
in amazing original mechanical and cosmetic condition. With only 3 owners, as well as many records and documents,
this car runs, shifts, drives, stops, and does everything it should, in an excellent manner.
A few highlights:
* 54,400 original documented miles
* Official Certificate of Authenticity ("C.O.A.") from Porsche
* Recently undergone a $2,400.00 service & runs great
All of the requisite 911 SC updates have been made, including pressure fed "Carrera" chain tensioners, and air-box
pop off valve. While never driven daily, and obviously not accumulating many miles, the car has never sat for
extended periods of time, and has always been regularly exercised. It has also just been freshly serviced and gone
through, is in excellent mechanical shape, and is ready for a long tour, or spirited drive. The car has excellent
oil pressure, and a nice steady and consistent idle. The original Fuchs are in good condition (slight fade to the
black paint in spots), and the tires are nearly new. It has been fitted with a more modern cd player, and this is
essentially the only modification to the car. Fortunately, the current radio was fit directly into the stock slot,
without any cutting or dash modifications. so a return to stock will be a simple switch. Speaking of the dash, it
is without any cracks or wear, and is among the best originals I've seen.
Considered by many marque enthusiasts, as the quintessential air-cooled 911, the SC is rapidly getting the respect
of the collector market, and is sure to quickly enjoy the appreciation garnered by the early 911 and 356 cars.
Invest in one of the last, original low mileage cars, at a reasonable price, before it's too late!

Magnus Walker pops up again, this time with his Irish Green 911
Sun, 06 Oct 2013He was the subject of a short film called Urban Outlaw. He has been on Jay Leno's Garage. Twice. He even graced the cover of Road & Track in June. And after all of that, he appeared in a video by Hong Kong-based Silly Thing. So it isn't really surprising that Magnus Walker is at the center of attention in the latest video from XCAR, but it's surprising - and a treat - to see his mostly original Irish Green 1966 Porsche 911.
Powered by an air-cooled 2.0-liter flat six with 130 horsepower (more like 120 hp today, Walker says), riding on 5.5-inch wide wheels and turned with a wooden steering wheel, the little green 911 does represent some of the best aspects of classic car motoring.
Head on below to watch the long-form video on Walker and his Porsche, but if your time is limited, you're not missing much if you call it quits at five minutes - especially if you've seen his aforementioned videos before.
The 2014 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S brings 50 extra ponies to Detroit
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Porsche has announced a new version of its popular SUV today at the Detroit Auto Show: the 550-horsepower 2014 Cayenne Turbo S.
This newly minted "flagship" of the Cayenne lineup is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 engine, and offers 50 hp more than the Cayenne Turbo. Performance figures are impressive for the sleek utility vehicle: 0-60 miles per hour can be dashed off in 4.3 seconds, while maximum speed is rated at 175 mph. The Turbo S also gets dynamic chassis control, torque vectoring and Porsche's Sport Chrono package - all standard equipment.
Visually the Cayenne Turbo S differentiates itself from the lesser models in pretty subtle ways. Gloss black trim decorates the gawping front air intakes, as well as rear-view mirror trim panel. The SUV also wears 21-inch Turbo II wheels, a la the 911 Turbo.
The mid-engine Porsche backstory
Thu, 09 Oct 2014As an automaker's identity evolves over years, its signature becomes defined by any number of factors - heritage (Mercedes-Benz), image (Lamborghini), or market share (Toyota). In the case of Porsche, it was an engineering quirk that forged the German company's most enduring character trait.
Porsche would not have survived - let alone, thrived - in today's saturated landscape had it not been for the 911, and that slope-tailed sports car wouldn't have sprung to life without its predecessor, the 356. While phenomenal success of those rear-engine icons built the company, forays into the mid-engine configuration have played a significant part in establishing the brand's identity.
