Bladenboro, North Carolina, United States
Power comes from a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual trans axle,
and modifications include a basket handle spoiler, 17″ Turbo Twist wheels, yellow brake calipers, a dual exhaust
system, custom upholstery, aluminum pedals, a Momo steering wheel, a CD changer, and more. An oil change was
reportedly performed in December 2019. The car is finished in Guards Red with black trim and rear fender guards, and has reportedly been garaged
throughout its life. The hood and bumper have been repainted
Later-model 17″ Turbo Twist wheels wear staggered-width Continental Extreme Contact tires from 2011 up front and
2016 out back. Braking is from yellow four-piston calipers with cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.
The interior is trimmed in custom black upholstery with red piping and features a matching dash cover, carpets, and
branded floor mats. Amenities include a power-operated sunroof, air conditioning, and a JVC cassette stereo with a
trunk-mounted CD change
A Momo steering wheel has been added along with a custom shift knob, aluminum pedal covers and gauge trim, and a
fire extinguisher. Approximately 130k miles are shown on the nonfunctional six-digit odometer, with all mileage
added by the current owner. Total mileage is unknown.
The air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six was factory rated at 172 horsepower with 189 lb-ft of torque and is linked to a
five-speed manual trans axle. An aftermarket dual exhaust system replaces the factory setup.

2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S
Wed, 04 Sep 2013A Wicked-Fast Street Legal Multi-Tool
Walter Röhrl was carving up the circuit in the Porsche 911 Turbo S like a skilled Jedi Master - and I was sitting next to him, mesmerized by the breathtaking show. I had strapped myself securely into the front passenger bucket of the all-new coupe less than a minute earlier, expecting nothing more than a few quick laps around a track at the hands of another celebrated race driver. Been there, done that. Many times, actually.
Yet this was different. Röhrl was not only calculated and methodical in his approach, but his rally-tuned cerebrum appeared to be actively reading available grip levels while effortlessly tossing the all-wheel-drive Porsche into each corner at gut-wrenching speeds. His hands were moving rapidly, sending tiny steering corrections to the front tires, and he was using every inch of the track to extract more speed. We launched over a curb, dropped a wheel in the dirt and then drifted around a wide off-camber turn. His human precision and focus was astounding, and the performance he was extracting from the machine was just short of breathtaking.
Porsche recalls new 911 models over exhaust pipe issues
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Porsche, though the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, announced a voluntary recall on about 2,200 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 models built during the 2012 and 2013 model years. On cars equipped with the standard exhaust system it was found that the tailpipes could separate from the mufflers and become dangerous road debris; models that added the optional sport exhaust system are not included in this recall.
Affected vehicles were built between March and November of last year, but there have been no reports of the problem on any customer-owned vehicles. Porsche first noticed a cracked tailpipe weld on a test vehicle back in May, and since then has found similar problems on other internally owned vehicles, all with more than 25,000 miles on the clock. To fix the problem, dealers will be replacing the mufflers. Scroll down to read the official notice.
Petrolicious studies the purity of a Porsche 911 2.7 RS
Thu, 17 Oct 2013Water-cooled Porsches are superior to the old, air-cooled models. This really isn't up for debate, despite the mob of Porsche purists, with pitchforks and torches in hand, currently descending on the Autoblog offices. Water-cooled models are more powerful and easier to live with, two factors that make modern Porsches just so darn amazing.
And while we won't hear arguments on anything we've written above, we will say that the old air-cooled models, while not superior, are just, somehow, better. They sound better - a lot better. They're simple, elemental and wildly entertaining things, that just beg for more and more. They rev in a way that forces drivers to work to unlock their power, rather than just push their right foot down. Part of the appeal of air-cooled Porsches, in addition to what we just listed, are the gorgeous cars they're slotted into, like the subject of the latest video from Petrolicious.
Starring a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS, this video is a bit shorter than recent ones, but it's no less exciting. This 911, complete with it's sweet-sounding exhaust is the kind of simple, entertaining thing we can watch over and over. Scroll down for the full video.
