1984 Carrera 3.2L Flachbau w/ RUF Package
This car is extremely well done
- inside and out with all OEM parts throughout. All seals and trim are in excellent condition still. Tread on the
tires have about 90% left in them. Speedline RUF wheels. Everything on this car works as it should. It has a very
cool pop up headlight setup (see video). G50 transmission with the 3.2L. This car has an extremely well done
valve job. I've owned quite a few air cooled 911s over the years but this one is by far the fastest one.
Extremely fast with an incredible sound! Gets attention everywhere it goes. A real joy to drive. You can not beat
the air cooled Porsche - it is still the most enjoyable driving experience out there by far.
Now here is unfortunately and downside to the car: Even though it is strictly cosmetic, the car was keyed 2 yrs
ago by some low life who had nothing better to do with his time then do this to the car. the pics you see were
taken today and the key marks are not too noticeable but the car has not been repainted since the incident. you
really don't see it until you look for it on the car but it is still noticeable. there are also two bubbles on the
paint on one side of the rear bear claw vent ( very common along the bear claw vents), there is another bubble on
the drivers side front quarter next to the pop light. the intent was to repaint the car after it had been keyed
but I never got around to it and have kept it on the road. Outside of this there is no rust on the car elsewhere.
It does need repainting though. Please look at the high resolution pics closely and you can see what I'm
referring to. there is also some road rash on the lower fairing from highway driving,
So all in all, this is an excellent machine that has always been well maintained and stored in a heated garage. I
have a lot of the service history of the car rom the pevious owner and as well as my past maintenance and will
provide to the future buyer.

Ferrari return to Le Mans looking more likely?

Wed, 18 Dec 2013

Statements made by Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo may indicate that the Italian brand could return to a form of racing it's been absent from for 40 years - prototype racing. That's right, LMP1 could see a factory Ferrari team for the first time since 1973, if a report from ESPN F1 is to be believed.
"We have won with the 458 GTE, but I also quite like the idea of racing at Le Mans in the highest category: who knows, maybe one day we can return and win, say thanks and come home," Montezemolo said. "Maybe we should give it some consideration..."
These seemingly idle, off-hand comments might not hold much water, were rumors about Ferrari's return to prototype racing not swirling as recently as August. There's also the fact that the upcoming, 1.6-liter, turbocharged V6 being used for Formula One complies with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest's own LMP1 regulations, according to ESPN. Finally, Ferrari returning to Le Mans might also explain this video of a camouflaged Ferrari LaFerrari testing a new turbocharged engine, which we showed you a few weeks back. There's a fair chance that what we're actually seeing in that video are the early stages of a new Ferrari prototype testing.

2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S is a 911 Turbo for the family man

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

In the event that the Porsche Panamera Turbo's 520 horsepower and 189-mile-per-hour top speed aren't enough to sate the appetite of the speed freak, Porsche has just given the auto show debut to the faster, more powerful Panamera Turbo S.
With 570 horsepower being pumped from a 4.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, the Panamera Turbo S promises even faster acceleration, hitting 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, a 0.3-second improvement over the standard Turbo. The top speed, meanwhile, climbs to 192 mph, which is kind of ridiculous for a car with four doors and a trunk.
Other enhancements that come with this Panamera's extra syllable include carbon-ceramic brakes and the entirety of Porsche's active chassis systems, including Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and Porsche Active Suspension Management. The performance goodies come standard, but that doesn't mean the Panamera Turbo S is cheap.

Porsche Classic launching branded motor oil for air-cooled boxer engines

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

It's hard not to love the look of a classic Porsche. Whether it's the upside-down bathtub styling of the 356 or the gradual evolution of the 911, there is a little beauty in all of them. However, the older they get, the more that needs repaired to keep them on the road. Porsche Classic is helping out, though, by introducing its own brand of motor oil for the demands of the company's vintage, air-cooled engines.
Developed at the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach, Germany, Porsche Classic Motoroil comes in two weights - 20W-50 for the 356, 914 and 911 models up to the 2.7-liter G-Model and 10W-60 for 3.0-liters-and-up engines through the 993-chassis 911. The company claims that the air-cooled engines have different heat demands than traditional, water-cooled units, and this oil is made to meet those requirements.
According to Porsche, modern, synthetic oils are sometimes too effective when it comes to old engines. They are fantastic at sopping up debris, but those deposits are often holding archaic seals together. Suddenly removing them can cause leaks. The new oil is specifically designed to work with the old-fashioned materials found in its classics. The company also knows that most owners aren't driving their vintage cars everyday. So this formulation is more alkaline that normal to neutralize acids that they build up and corrode components.
