Let me start by saying I truly value my feedback and will do my absolute best to honestly represent this car. I am selling this car for a customer of mine, I have been working on cars professionally for 22 years and have looked it over closely. Up for auction is a absolutely Gorgeous 1990 Porsche 911/964 Carrera 2 Targa. This car is stunning from 20 feet away or 20 inches away. This is a garage kept vehicle that is driven only very few miles. All original paint, absolutely NO body damage or repair ever. Not 1 ding on this entire car, literally. I honestly dont think you could find a cleaner, more straight body. All of the trim, sill plates, rubber, rockers, mouldings etc. are all excellent. The interior of this car as shown in pictures has not even been cleaned yet. Seats, dash, carpet, door panels, console etc. is all excellent. I really dont think you could find a nicer original interior than this one on any older 911. There are some very minor marks on the carpet which im sure will clean up fine. Underbody and Engine compartment are also super clean. Wheels are excellent, no curb rash or damage whatsoever. Car fires instantly and runs beautifully. This is a true Drivers car. No driveability issues at all. No fluid leaks. And although anyone can tell this car has very low mileage, given its superb cosmetic condition(lack of wear on exterior, interior, seats, pedals, suspension etc.), Unfortunately I cannot be certain of the true actual mileage. Not to put a damper on all this good stuff but I need to share all that i know. Hears why. The mileage on the odometer currently reads  3,649 miles. However I did run a Carfax and it shows this vehicle having 8,880 miles in 2008. It also shows low mileage up until that point. Picture will be included. All I can figure is that that odometer may have been replaced around then and is now reading the 3,649. Which would make it around 12k roughly. Please understand that True exact mileage is unknown and stated milege is the best estimate given all information available.Given the actual condition of the car all around, it is very close. Ok, now for the rest of the bad stuff, as minor as it may be, I gotta tell ya. The headliner has lost is adhesion and needs to be redone. At some point the plastic trunk release bracket got broken. Cable still works and releases. The tires are drivable, 4/32 to 6/32 all around but do have a bit of dryrot. Not to bad but the car warrants them getting replaced in the near future. The original radio is in the car but is asking for the code. I have not located it yet but am still trying to obtain it. The ashtray/compartment door doesnt stay up when you close it. Havent looked into it. The A/C did not seem too cold when i turned it on either. My customer just plain doesnt drive the car much at all and has decided its time to sell. This car will get a full professional detail before buyer takes delivery. This is a truly outstanding car. I have done my best to describe this car as it is. Please only VERY SERIOUS bidders with cash in hand on this car. I dont want any bidders that do not have the financial situation worked out yet. Cash only or Certified check from a reputable bank. $500 paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction close. Remainder on delivery within preferably 7-10 days. I am happy to answer any questions that anyone may have. Thanks in advance and best of luck on this beautiful car.

Porsche 911 Targa Turbo for Geneva debunked, 919 Hybrid and 911 RSR racers coming instead

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

Porsche has proven adept at making sure there is a version of its venerable 911 for practically any wealthy driver's desires. If you just want a great all-rounder then buy a standard 911; open-air driving, then the Cabriolet is for you, and if you need a compromise between them, there is even the new 911 Targa.
Gossip earlier this week surfaced on various websites that at next week's Geneva Motor Show, Porsche had designs on introducing an even higher-performance Targa variant, a Targa Turbo. The rumored mashup would combine the wide body from the 911 Turbo with the super-complicated power roof from the Targa (see right). Assuming no changes in power, that would mean 520 horsepower or even 560 hp in a Targa Turbo S model. Unfortunately, we're hearing that this tasty bit of scuttlebutt is incorrect. Autoblog asked Nick Twork, Porsche North America Product Communications Manager, about the rumor, and his response couldn't have been clearer: "Totally false."
Twork did elaborate that company will be "debuting the Porsche 919 Hybrid, our new LMP1 race car" at the Swiss show, and Stuttgart has also announced this morning that will show its 911 RSR racecar, too - either of which we reckon is a lot more exciting than another Targa variant.

Porsche 911 already testing next refresh

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

The latest Porsche 911 may still be a newer car, but that hasn't stopped the German company from starting development of a facelifted version of the rear-engined sports car, testing in what looks like southern Europe.
Due to hit the market in 2015, our spies think what we're seeing here is the new GTS variant, which, following the evolution of the last-generation 911, will make its debut on the facelifted car. Featuring the wider rear haunches of the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4, the GTS should enjoy a slight power boost, to 408 ponies.
Aesthetically, there are some additional vents in the rear bodywork, along with a revised front bumper and tweaked day-time running lights. The taillights get some attention as well, and will likely grow over the current car's skinny rear lamps.

Porsche board members facing another ˆ1.8B lawsuit over VW takeover bid

Mon, 03 Feb 2014

Back in 2008, Porsche got the bright idea that it could take over Volkswagen in the midst of the worst economic slump since the Great Depression. Ignoring that this was a catastrophic move for the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer that that eventually resulted in it nearly going bankrupt and eventually being taken over by the same company it sought to control, the aftermath has left Porsche Chairman Wolfgang Porsche and board member Ferdinand Piëch in the crosshairs of seven hedge funds that lost out during the takeover and are now seeking €1.8 billion - $2.43 billion US - in damages from the two execs, according to the BBC.
See, investors bet on Volkswagen's share price going down, partially because Porsche said it wasn't going to attempt a takeover. But Porsche was attempting to take over VW, having bought up nearly 75-percent of VW's publicly traded shares. When word broke that Porsche owned nearly three-quarters of VW (which indicated an imminent takeover attempt), rather than go down like the hedge funds bet it would, VW's share price skyrocketed to over 1,000 euros per share, according to Reuters.
Naturally, when you bet that a company's share price is going to drop and it in turn (temporarily) becomes the world's most valuable company, you lose a lot of money, unless you're able to buy up shares before prices jump too much. This led to a squeeze on the stock, which the hedge funds accuse Porsche and Piëch (who are both members of the Porsche family and supervisory board) of organizing.
