1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Convertible 2-door 3.6l on 2040-cars
Ridgefield, New Jersey, United States
964 Carrera 2, the most beautiful car Porsche ever created. its blast to drive with top down hearing Fabspeed exhaust and air intake noise. old tired suspensions have been replaced with modern KW1 coil over suspensions with stainless housings, aligned, blanced also it was lower to give gokart handlings. its so cool to turn every corner w this car. the lower valance was originally black color but It was painted white to match body colors and added front spoiler, this makes the car really mean, low and aggressive. I had this car for two years and have replaced and serviced most necessary items. I have all service records. two keys. fabspeed CF heater bypass to clean the engine compartment but I have the original heater fan if you want to return it to stock condition. the car it looks stunning...no rust on body. On Apr-30-14 at 07:12:35 PDT, seller added the following information: super long full HID light conversion with balusters, not cheap lamp replacement. Focal front speakers extremely high-end fullrange speakers. oem spare tires, jack lift, strut brace (yes the handling is superb). the tires almost new continental four season tires and it 85% tread life left (another 30k miles or more). 964 was maintained at Porsche specialist, has about 20 pages of service records. |

2014 Porsche 911 GT3 [w/video]
Thu, 01 Aug 2013The Bearable Lightness Of Being
Start with a standard Porsche 911 Carrera and its 350-horsepower, 3.6-liter flat six-cylinder engine. Bore a crepe-thin slice of aluminum from each cylinder to get to 3.8 liters, add a wider track out back and two extra exhaust pipes and voila, you can append an S to the Carrera's name. Hang two sets of wet, multi-disc clutches along its spine and you can make that a 4, or a 4S. Bolt on two forced-induction compressors and piping, add two fender vents and comically wide rear tires and you've redeemed your ticket to a Turbo. Increase the boost pressure and swell the corral to 560 horses and you have the Turbo S, which is the Virginia Slims of the 911 line-up because it's come a long way, baby.
Or you can go in a different direction. At that second stop, grab the 3.8-liter and cart it over to the engineers at Porsche's development center in Weissach, Germany. If racing were meat, they would be among the alpha carnivores. The baseboards in their homes are probably painted with miniature billboards for motor oil and vintage cigarettes along the straights, red-and-white stripes around every corner.
Porsche planning customer driving center at Le Mans
Fri, 29 Nov 2013Porsche seems to be on a campaign to build driving centers for its customers to allow them to experience the capabilities of their cars on track. It has one under way in Los Angeles, another in development at its North American headquarters in Atlanta, and a British center set up at the Silverstone circuit. Now the latest reports indicate that Porsche is planning yet another driving center at Le Mans.
The new facility is earmarked to be built at the Circuit de la Sarthe right by the start/finish line, incorporating the Porsche Curves that bridge the Arnage corner and the Ford Chicanes on the West side of the famous track.
Porsche is reportedly still seeking approval from the Automobile Club de l'Ouest that manages the circuit, and once given the green light, would still take some time to complete. But the idea of driving a 911 flat out on the legendary track is likely to make more than a few mouths water, particularly as the German automaker prepares its full-on assault of the famous endurance race next year.
2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid
Tue, 09 Jul 2013Porsche's Performance Plug-in Preamble
By the end of this year, Porsche will be producing as many plug-in vehicles (two) as mainstream automakers such as Toyota, Chevrolet and Honda. Before the 2015 918 Spyder hybrid supercar goes on sale in the US, though, it will be warming its customers up to the idea of a plug-in model with the 2014 Panamera S E-Hybrid. A step up from the previous Panamera S Hybrid, the new plug-in Panamera adds a more powerful and advanced electric drive system that pledges to deliver the performance expected of a Porsche with the added benefit of improved fuel economy and reduced emissions.
Going on sale in November, the Panamera S E-Hybrid is aimed at customers also considering the upcoming plug-in version Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but the car's dimensions and performance could make it a competitor for Tesla Model S customers. We headed to Germany at Porsche's invitation to see how well it performs, as well as check out the full range of newly refreshed Panamera models, which now numbers nine offerings - although we're still waiting for a production version of the gorgeous Sport Turismo wagon concept.
