I'm selling my 2002 911 Cab. I've owned it for 2 1/2 years; it's been a beautiful car and made me very happy. I'm selling it because I'm only driving it infrequently and my kids are getting a bit too big for the back seats.  It's been a weekend and occasional driver; I'm putting less than 5K miles/year on it.

The color is Lapis Blue Metallic - it's a lighter blue than the midnight blue, with a gray interior, beautiful blue color. It currently has around 63,400 miles. It's a 6 speed manual transmission. 320HP 3.6L engine. Original sticker was ~$89K. The car is 100% factory spec, no modifications of any sort.

The paint is very good overall, there are small chips in the front and hood paint from normal wear, nothing significant. The wheels are in very nice condition with no significant scuffs (see photos), though the plastic on the center wheel caps has started to age. The top is also in very good condition. It's a smoke-free car.

It's very good looking and drives beautifully. For the 2002 model year Porsche updated the suspension geometry to make the car more stable, and added PSM (Porsche Stability Management/stability control).

It has a factory Bose stereo with subwoofer and audio AUX connector (iPhone/Android), and the detachable windscreen for top down driving, along with 18" Porsche premium wheels. The tires are new in the past year, and have 50-75% tread remaining.

You are welcome to view/inspect the car during the auction period, just contact me, the location is Boulder, CO. I'm also selling the car locally, and will end the auction early if it sells locally.

Supercar parade entering highway is mesmerizing

Thu, 09 May 2013

In what must have looked and sounded to motorists on the M6 like an invasion of The Swarm, a parade of 50 enthusiast gems leaving a charity event were caught shooting down the on-ramp and merging into traffic. There were plenty of Porsches joining the 959 and Ducktail above, Aston Martins going back to the badboy V8 of the last millennium, a Ferrari Testarossa, a TVR and numerous other Easter eggs.
There were not, however, plenty of turn signals, with someone counting just five among the fifty engaging in proper use of the blinker. One reason put forth for that is the same reason we're posting this video, which is from last Summer, below: "because supercar." Enjoy.

Parents of terminally ill child sue after son dies following make-a-wish-style ride

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

Some stories are so sad and depressing, they make you want to go back to bed and pull the covers over your head. This is one such story. 14-year-old Raphael Wittman was suffering from an unspecified form of terminal cancer when he was invited by the children's cancer charity Kinder Krebs Hilfe to a charity drive organized by Porsche Forum Austria. During the drive, the Porsche Boxster Wittman was riding in was involved in a head-on collision. Both of his legs were broken and he bit off his tongue in the wreck. He died seven weeks later, in a Vienna hospital. Now, his father is suing the charity, claiming that the accident robbed his son of the will to live.
"The accident set off a chain of events starting with the doctors putting him on new medication for the cancer he had. He was always a fighter, but suddenly he was saying that he was not going to fight any more," Franz Wittman told Austria's Kurier, according to The Guardian. "We would have had a wonderful last time together [on vacation] but it never happened because of the accident."
Father and son were originally planning to go to Tenerife to spend time together, although those plans were cancelled following the accident.

2015 Porsche Panamera Exclusive Series is a seriously quick way to spend $260k

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

Porsche is usually associated with being a sports car brand, but with vehicles like the Cayenne and Panamera it takes a step into the world of luxury against firmly established players like Mercedes-Benz. One way for the company to poke its head above the high-class fray is by taking things further, and in the case of the Panamera Exclusive Series at the Los Angeles Auto Show, it means pushing grandeur to extreme levels.
Coming in at an absolutely eye-watering $263,900, plus $995 destination, the Panamera Exclusive starts its life as the already sumptuous Panamera Turbo S Executive with a 4.8-liter, twin-turbo V8 making 570 horsepower on an extended wheelbase. To help justify the extra $63,000 for the Exclusive, though, the model gets 20-inch black Sport Classic wheels and an interior in swaddled in Nappa leather with dark walnut and piano black trim. Rear passengers also get 10.1-inch touchscreens mounted on the back of the front seats. A set of fitted Poltrana Frau leather luggage is included with each one, as well.
The luxurious sedan earns it Exclusive moniker because just 100 of them are being made worldwide. Scroll down to read about Porsche's ultimate limousine.
