Relisting my factory, authentic, genuine, true, real 914-6 as it did not sell when listed back in September and
December.
An older restoration that deserves a full restoration somewhere down the road. I feel I'll never have the time,
energy, nor resources to do that and, with the car turning 50 soon,maybe someone else does. As you might see in
the photos, the car was involved in a wreck at the front right quarter panel (before my time). There are other
minor cosmetic deficiencies (door panels, trunk shocks,dash covering, etc.) that I've tried to show in the photos
and a few other issues that have developed from me not driving it regularly enough (slow leak on the right rear
wheel/tire and the tachometer recently stopped working).
It's reliable enough to be driven daily but, without AC, only driven on the occasional weekend outing in Houston.
It's a blast to drive and turns every head!
As is common with 914's, the original engine and transmission were replaced sometime in its past. I have the
original engine block and transmission and these are included in the sale along with the COA. The engine block
installed in the car is an original 1970 914-6 block but the last digits of its stamped serial numbers are
unreadable.
The odometer reading has bee provided though I'm sure it's rolled over more than once.

Porsche Cayman GT4 spotted at the N?rburgring
Tue, 13 May 2014It was just the other day that we first caught wind of Porsche's plans to build a GT4 version of the Cayman, and now we're already looking at spy shots of the vehicle in question undergoing testing at - where else? - the Nürburgring.
With more aggressive front-end aero, a GT3-style air vent ahead of the front hood, a large wing at the back, and spindly alloys packed with over-sized brakes at each corner, this Cayman is clearly more extreme than even the range-topping GTS. The rear diffuser and central exhaust tips look about the same as those you'd find at the back of the Cayman GTS, though.
What we can't see, of course, is what Porsche has slotted in under the rear glass, how it's upgraded the interior and how much weight it's stripped out of the thing to get it down to fighting weight, but you can bet it'll come with a substantial power bump and a stripped-out interior with racing buckets and little else to open the gap between it and the GTS... and close the gap to the 911 GT3 which it will join as the baby brother in Porsche's performance-focused lineup. Will Roegge makes 4K art of Jeff Zwart's 911 build and run up Pikes Peak
Sun, 17 Aug 2014Will Roegge has turned his camera on Jeff Zwart and provided another gem, this time documenting Zwart's run up Pikes Peak and BBI Autosport. Bertim Besha dropped out of high school, then worked his way up to founding his own shop, BBI, that gathers a crew of tuners who are just as fastidious about their work as the customers are about their cars.
They prepped the 991-series Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Turbo, the product of combining a 911 GT2 that was the most powerful car Zwart drove up the mountain with a GT3 Cup that Zwart thought had the best handling. Two TiAL turbos and a lot of fettling make for a 3.8-liter flat-six with 700 horsepower, 700 pound-feet of torque and a 7,800-rpm redline. Zwart drove it to a heartbreaking second place this year, finishing less than 1.2 seconds behind the Time Attack 1 class winner when his car suffered its first mechanical issue of the week.
The first video below covers Besha, BBI and the build, the second is Zwart's run. As if the visuals weren't enough, sit back and enjoy the shrieking of the "Hill Climb Special," which is what the constellation Sirius would sound like if it could bark.
Porsche offers design walkthrough of Panamera Sport Turismo
Thu, 03 Jan 2013The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo was arguably the best concept car of 2012, and Porsche has been building upon that momentum by teasing us with videos of its first-ever station wagon design. After showing us some driving shots of the Sport Turismo, Porsche released a more in-depth and behind-the-scenes look at what it took to take the Panamera shooting brake from a full-scale clay model to the final product we saw on stage at the Paris Motor Show. In the video, Michael Mauer, Porsche style director, and Mitja Borkert, general manager advanced design style, both give a little insight about what went into creating the Sport Turismo Concept.
More than just a station wagon version of the Panamera, the Sport Turismo has a totally distinctive look nose to tail. Some of the key elements the designers touch on in the video include the Porsche-signature raised front fenders, the wide rear shoulders, the front wing inspired by the 918 Spyder, and even some of the car's unique touches, including the headlights and the three-dimensional "Porsche" lettering across the liftgate made from glass. One of the more exciting aspects of the concept - which is sadly just glossed over in the video - is the rear liftgate spoiler that features "variable aerodynamics" that sounds like it acts similar to the retractable spoiler on the current Panamera.
