1976 Porsche 914 Base 2.0l Fuch Wheels Needs Some Work on 2040-cars

I bought this car about six months ago with the intent of restoring. I was mostly attracted to the fact that it is the last year of the 914, the 2.0L engine, the unique Fuch wheels that are in good shape for the car's age and the rear spolier. The car has rust in the battery area (that is doomed to rust in most 914) and few areas unbeneath in the floor and chassis. but it is all repairable. The exterior is complete. The interior is in good shape but seats do not match (one seat looks like it is from a different porsche). The car starts and runs but will need work on several areas (I do not have a list of everything that is wrong) . So consider it a project. Engine and transmission are good. Body is complete. However, again, consider it a project. You will need to tow it away. Title is clear. I cannot verify the mileage so consider it unknown. Car is sold AS IS, with no warranty. You are encouraged to come and look at the car in person or send someone to review it. It is now located at a reputable Porsche shop in Peapack NJ and if you wish to look at the car I will send the info. |

Motor Trend hits Laguna Seca with Ferrari F12, Chevy Corvette, Porsche 911
Thu, 26 Sep 2013According to the crew at Motor Trend, we should think of the video below "as an addendum to Best Driver's Car," a test the magazine put together that elevated the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S above all others in the category of driving joy. It seems the brand-new 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray wasn't able to take part in the magazine's official test, and neither was the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
And so Motor Trend did the only logical thing: It procured both the 'Vette and Prancing Horse as soon as it could, and put them both on track with the Driver's Car-winning 911. Of course, these cars don't actually compete against each other - the Ferrari offers up 731 horsepower and wears an asking price of $434,144 as tested, which means you could buy four loaded Corvettes for the price of one F12, and still have money left for a garage to store them in - but that's not the point of this particular test.
The point of this test isn't to listen to the beautiful sounds coming from the Porsche's flat-six-cylinder, the Corvette's pushrod V8 or the Ferrari's luscious V12, either, but the video below is worth watching for those three reasons alone. You know what to do.

2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet spotted testing in the nude
Tue, 16 Jul 2013The Porsche 911 wouldn't be the Porsche 911 unless there were twenty-something different models to choose from (note: we are not complaining), and the latest one was just spied by our trusty photographers out on Germany's Nürburgring. Feast your eyes on the 911 Turbo Cabriolet - the droptop version of the new Turbo wonder that debuted in May - looking all sorts of stealth in its black-on-black-on-black prototype scheme.
Mechanically, the 911 Turbo Cab should be identical to the fixed-roof version, meaning a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six engine will live in the car's rump, putting out something like 520 horsepower. Of course, there's also the hotter Turbo S version of the coupe, and we expect that to get the droptop treatment, as well, with 560 horsepower on tap. The added weight of the folding top and additional structural supports will likely make for slightly slower 0-60 times for both cars, though considering the base Turbo will hit 60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds, "slower" is a very relative term indeed. All that force will run to the ground via all-wheel drive, managed by Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
The wide stance of the 911 Turbo Coupe carries over to the Cabriolet, no doubt fitted with the same (standard) 20-inch wheels. Inside, the usual luxury amenities will be on hand, along with nearly endless customization options.
