This is a used 1973 Porsche 914 2.0 liter.  It is great fun to drive with it's powerful 2 liter engine and it's 5 speed transmission.  It has a two barrel Weber carburetor and it runs great.  It is equipped with the following: Kenwood AM/FM/CD sound system, factory fog lamps, center console, wood shift knob, and correct Fuchs alloy wheels.  In the last 90 days it has had new front strut inserts, a new Bosch rebuilt starter, a new Bosch rebuilt alternator, new voltage regulator, and a new fan belt.  I also have receipts from the last owner totaling $10,927.54 for restoration and repair work. This car is ready for some serious summer fun.  Runs great.  The odometer reads 28,163 miles so I am assuming that it has been around once and is actually 128,163 miles but I cannot make any such guarantee.  The buyer is responsible for pick up and or delivery.  A $500.00 non-refundable deposit via PayPal is due within 48 hours of the close of the auction.  The balance is due within 7 days of the close of the auction.  Sorry, but due to the proliferation of forged bank checks, I will only accept the balance in either cash upon pickup or a bank transfer.  I will not accept the balance via PayPal. I can store the car inside for up to two weeks after the close of the auction as long as all payment are made as outlined above.  This car is being sold as is where is with no guaranty or warranty of any kind.  I am located in Berwick, Maine, 70 miles north of Boston, 50 miles south of Portland, Maine, and 35 miles east of Manchester, NH.  You are encouraged to come and inspect and drive the car before the end of the auction.  Please note that I prefer not to discuss my reserve until after the close of the auction.  Please do not email asking what the reserve is.  Thank you.

Magnus Walker soliloquizes in his Porsche 911 at night

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Magnus Walker, a prolific Los Angeles clothing designer who has also carved out a respected spot for himself in Porsche world, has had yet another video made about him and his sizable Porsche collection. In this latest video, Hong Kong-based Obscura magazine focuses its video cameras on Walker and his 1971 Porsche 911 track car (yes, the one that appeared on Jay Leno's Garage) as he speeds around Downtown LA and Little Tokyo late at night.
We've heard Walker's story many times before. He's not like the average Porsche owner, perhaps a tad more passionate than most, and he builds 911s like he designs clothes: his way. Sure, we might be a little envious, but can you blame us? View this very slick and entertaining nighttime video entitled Disturbing The Peace below.

Raiding The Porsche Museum For A Fun Track Day
It seems everyone is celebrating anniversaries this year: it's Aston's hundredth, Lamborghini's fiftieth, Ford Mustang's fiftieth, Chevy Corvette's sixtieth - and Tesla just turned ten or something. It's been a little out of hand, frankly, all these forced marketing festivities, but if we had to pick one milestone to really celebrate hard and party all night, the Porsche 911 would be at the top of our list.
Get ready for a major 911 blowout bash at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show. It was on September 12 back in 1963 at this very show where Porsche unveiled its "901" painted in a rather boring shade of beige. Though drably finished, the car caused a worldwide frenzy in the budding German sports car sphere.

Preparing for Le Mans 2014 Porsche remembers 1971 and the 917 [w/video]

Sun, 07 Apr 2013

Porsche has given us another look back at its successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This time it's 1971, the year that its 917 set records that haven't all been eclipsed. It's 45-kilogram magnesium tube frame was the lightest, Jackie Oliver set the fastest in-race lap with a time that still stands, and winning drivers Helmut Marko - the same Helmut Marko currently with Infiniti Red Bull Racing - and Gilles Lethem did so many laps that their distance wasn't exceeded until the Audi R15 TDI did it in 2010.
1971 was also the year of the "Pink Pig." With bodywork created by a French aerodynamics firm, the wider, rounder 917 earned the porcine moniker so Porsche painted it pink and labeled it with the cuts you'd get from a pig. Sponsor Martini was so miffed they demanded all Martini branding be removed. No one can remove the thousands of photographs taken of the car ever since. Enjoy that and more in the video below.
