Porsche 914 914-6 914 6 on 2040-cars
Ripon, California, United States
I have a 1970 factory 914-6 for sale. This car has had a
complete restoration of the drivetrain, interior, suspension, brakes heater
system and much more. The car has been driven about 50 miles since completed. This
is a matching numbers car with original engine that is now a 2.2 liter. The transmission
I believe is correct but was not recorded on the certificate of authenticity. The
original color was red but is now silver. The engine is completely rebuilt with
almost everything new. It has all of the best parts, JE pistons with new AA aluminum
cylinders, Dougherty race cams with a 911 E cam grind. All new crank, rod and
cam bearings, all new valves with cylinder heads rebuilt with new guides,
springs, and retainers. It has new rocker arm shaft and hardware, it is
finished off with Hargett aluminum valve covers and completely rebuilt factory
original carburetors that I have put velocity stacks on. I’m sure there is more
that I have missed. The transmission was completely disassembled and all needed
parts were replaced. It is the original tail shift transmission with a
Rennshift performance shifter that works great. The car Has Billy Boat polished
stainless steel headers with heat exchangers and Billy boat polished stainless
steel muffler. The suspension has been completely removed and every part is
powder coated. All the bushings and needed parts are new. It has all new
Bilstein shocks with new rear springs and new factory front torsion bars. The brake
system has been completely rebuilt with original calipers being rebuilt, new
rotors, wheels bearings, and brake pads, all hardware that holds suspension and
brakes were sent out to be zinc plated as original. The interior is all new
with new carpet as well as all seats being recovered as original was. The list
goes on and on. There is MUCH more done that I have not even listed here. Thanks
for looking. |

Porsche planning customer driving center at Le Mans
Fri, 29 Nov 2013Porsche seems to be on a campaign to build driving centers for its customers to allow them to experience the capabilities of their cars on track. It has one under way in Los Angeles, another in development at its North American headquarters in Atlanta, and a British center set up at the Silverstone circuit. Now the latest reports indicate that Porsche is planning yet another driving center at Le Mans.
The new facility is earmarked to be built at the Circuit de la Sarthe right by the start/finish line, incorporating the Porsche Curves that bridge the Arnage corner and the Ford Chicanes on the West side of the famous track.
Porsche is reportedly still seeking approval from the Automobile Club de l'Ouest that manages the circuit, and once given the green light, would still take some time to complete. But the idea of driving a 911 flat out on the legendary track is likely to make more than a few mouths water, particularly as the German automaker prepares its full-on assault of the famous endurance race next year.
Porsche Museum highlights history of the 911 RSR
Sat, 12 Jan 2013Porsche has amassed quite an impressive trophy case in just about every racing series it has ever entered, and one of its most dominant machines has to be the 911 RSR from the 1970s. Taking part in various GT-class competitions, the 911 RSR managed to take home three international and seven German victories in 1973, its very first year of competition.
Not one to downplay its racing successes, Porsche has released an informative video detailing the 911 RSR's impressive heritage. The 1973 RSR model owned by the Porsche Museum is detailed beautifully on video, and we have to say it looks absolutely stunning in its vintage Martini Racing livery.
Have a look at the video below for some historic racing action, along with static shots of one of our favorite Porsche models ever created.
Singer 911 gorgeousness explored and experienced by Chris Harris
Thu, 17 Jan 2013Few things get us as cranked up as a Porsche 911. Generation after generation, this rear-engined oddity has exhilarated our senses, and the new 991 is the most capable iteration yet. Even so, there's a lot to be said for the older models, from their lighter weights and more modest dimensions to their air-cooled thrums.
That elemental vintage Porsche appeal hasn't been lost on Los Angeles-based Singer Vehicle Design, which has endeavored to take the best bits from every generation of 911 and combine them into one impossibly sexy rear-engined machine. Based on a 964 donor car, we knew that a lot of work would need to go into everything from the structure to the bodywork to realize the Singer's cohesive aesthetic and dynamic vision, but we didn't know just how much until we watched this Drive video featuring Chris Harris. The auto journo gets time with the 350-horsepower, Cosworth-motivated coupe on both mountain passes and at the track, but what could be the most interesting thing about the 27-minute-long video is his in-depth plant tour.
Check it out by scrolling below, but not before paging through our new Singer 911 gallery.
