Up for auction and for sale for the VERY 1st time in 30 years is our EXTREMELY UNIQUE 1973 Porsche 914 with a Pro installed and engineered Wankel 13B Rotary motor.  This is NOT some backyard project, this was one of the VERY 1st 914 Rotary conversions ever done.  It was completed by 2 M.I.T. engineers in 1980 and completed in 1983.  I have a literal file cabinet full of drawings, receipts and schematics of this perfectly built custom machine.  Over $9000 spent on this conversion in the early 80s!  Here are some highlights:

  • This is originally a California car
  • Always garaged
  • Rotary Wankel 13B motor about 200 hp
  • Dogleg shifter
  • Signal Orange (original color with 1 repaint in 80s)
  • Racing 3 point belts
  • Water cooled and perfectly tuned
  • Targa top (As all 914s are)
  • Custom made aluminum 15" wheels
  • Pirelli tires (period correct in great shape)
  • Recently inspected and titled
  • VERY CLEAN
  • Custom auxiliary gauge panel under dash
  • Original gauges in tact and fully operational
  • perfect interior
  • too much to list...

The engineer of this car unfortunately passed away last year and I bought the car shortly after.  I bought the car to vintage race but had a change of heart and never got to the track.  So, either enjoy on the street or throw your lucky number on the side and hit the track.  This car is absolutely amazing.

If you are a Porsche purist or are looking for an all-original vehicle- this is not for you.  If you want one of the most unique cars on the road that is built to last, VERY FAST and guaranteed to grab attention- then you will not find a finer specimen than this.  Good Luck.

NOTE: I am BRAND NEW to ebay- I usually sell locally but due to the unique nature of this car, I wanted to get it out to more people.  Since I don't have a rating, I am MORE than happy to have people/mechanics come check out the car personally or provide more photos on request.  (Car is located in greater Boston, MA area) please come or have your representative come check it out.  Contact me with ANY questions!

2012 TechArt Porsche 911 is visually dazzling, both inside and out

Wed, 07 Mar 2012

One way to ensure that your brand-new Porsche 911 (a.k.a. 991) won't look like the one in your neighbor's driveway is to give TechArt a call. The famed German tuner has rolled out its version of the latest Carrera and Carrera S at the Geneva Motor Show and trust us, it won't be mistaken for anything from the factory in Stuttgart.
Up front, TechArt has fitted its own unique two-part spoiler with integrated splitter while more aggressive side skirts adorn the rocker panels. The rear has a new lower diffuser, wrapped around the TechArt exhaust, and a large fixed rear wing (complete with an integrated third brake light). Look more closely to notice the subtle trim panels on the exterior mirrors and front headlights. The wheels are lightweight forged 20- and 21-inch alloys with matching paint on their rims.
Inside the heavily modified cabin are even more drastic enhancements (let's say TechArt has gone over the top). Don't let the aluminum pedals be a distraction as you inspect the black Alcantara and high-grade leather covering nearly every square inch. Flirting with gaudy, the dark upholstery is contrasted by vehicle-color-coordinated stitching and painted trim splashed throughout. However, the icing on the cake is an insanely thick TechArt three-spoke sports steering wheel.

Porsche in Paul Walker fatal accident was traveling over 100 mph before crash

Fri, 03 Jan 2014

The Porsche Carrera GT involved in the November crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas was traveling at speeds above 100 miles per hour before Rodas lost control for "unknown reasons," according to a report from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office that has been acquired by The Hollywood Reporter.
Once control was lost, the Porsche spun, hit a curb and then impacted a tree and a light post, then it spun 180 degrees and hit another tree before erupting in flames, the report said. Neither Walker nor Rodas were under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident, according to toxicology reports conducted by the coroner.
As for the future of the Fast and Furious franchise, a separate by The Hollywood Reporter claims director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Universal Studios will move forward with the seventh installment in the franchise, which was only partially completed when Walker was killed.

Magnus Walker turbocharges his love for the Porsche 911

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

He's had his fill of early, long-hood Porsche 911s - he owns at least one from each model year, from 1964 to 1973 - so Magnus Walker, a fanatic of the Stuttgart, Germany-based automaker, recently set his sights on the early Porsche 930, as documented by this XCAR video called 'Turbo Fever.' Let us translate: pretty soon Walker will own all of the earliest, non-intercooled 911 Turbos - at least one from each model year, starting at 1975 and ending at 1977 (though the 1975 911 Turbo Carrera never officially was imported to the US by Porsche, so it'll be tougher to find one Stateside).
Any Porsche enthusiast can tell you why they love their car, and it often comes down to the small details that differentiate one model year from another. One of many examples is the mid-'80s 928. They look similar, but the basic difference between a 1984 Porsche 928 S and a 1985 928 S (US-spec) is two camshafts and 54 horsepower, though each car's V8 has its own pros and cons. We'll let Magnus Walker tell you all about the 930 and what makes the first three years special, as he's becoming quite the expert on early, air-cooled 911s. When the nearly 15-minute mini-documentary was filmed, which you can view below, he already had added four early 930s to his collection!
