A pretty cool history and a little bit about this beauty: She is originally from Monterey county and belonged to a very wonderful elderly lady who took STELLAR CARE , and was the ONLY ORIGINAL OWNER of this car. She never smoked, never had any pets and it seems as though no one had ever even ever sat in the passenger seat as you may deduce from the PRISTINE condition the interior is STILL in...you can still smell the scent of the original leather inside!!! When this kind lady passed away, she left it to the only boy who had ever worked on the car (it actually was the first car HE had ever worked on in his dads shop back then, of course he is a grown man with his own family and owns that same shop now) who not long after, I was lucky enough to have been introduced to and procured this one of a kind gem. I also have his business card that I can pass on to you so that you can have the full and complete records of any and all work done to this car.

There are a couple reasons why I am selling the car now. The first being that I am pregnant and sadly, I can not parade around town with a newborn in a 2 seater and the top dropped :( And secondly, even if I could have a baby in a 2 seater, WHERE OH WHERE CAN I FIT MY 160 LB CANE CORSO PUPPY?????....and then there is the matter of a 200 LB husband... LOL...so I'm sure my dilemma is clear now, I am doing a whole lot of baby proofing and preparing and THIS, unfortunately, is par for the course...she was great for me just a few months ago...but now she is no longer functional for myself AND my family. I would hate for her to sit and not be enjoyed by another. I am more than happy to answer any other questions that you may have at any time and with a quick call, my husband or myself can be available to show you this TRULY RARE ALL ORIGINAL CLASSIC BEAUTY at your request. Again...we are starting at $6750, but of course, OBO. Thank you so much for your time and hope to hear from you soon!

Porsche busts out new Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

Baby 911. The poor man's Porsche. That's what they called the Boxster when it debuted some 20 years ago. They said the same of the first Cayman when it arrived a decade later, but they stopped saying it when the latest iterations hit the scene two years ago. That's because Zuffenhausen's entry-level models have long since stepped out of their big brother's shadow and into their own. And that's all the more true of the new Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS.
Based on the Boxster S and Cayman S, the new GTS models benefit from an enhanced 3.4-liter flat six that produces 330 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque in the roadster or 340 hp and 280 lb-ft in the coupe - representing an increase of 15 hp and 7 lb-ft in either model. Both also come with the Sport Chrono package as standard, along with adjustable suspension and 20-inch alloys, blacked out to match the dynamic headlight surrounds and other muted trim.
Those disappointed by the unavailability of a manual transmission in the fire-prone 911 GT3 will be pleased to note that a six-speed manual comes standard, but those enamored of letting a pair of clutches shift themselves seamlessly will want to spring for the optional seven-speed DCT. So equipped and with launch control engaged, the Boxster GTS will rocket from a standstill to 62 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds, while the incrementally lighter, more powerful Cayman will hit it in 4.6. Either way you're looking at a third of a second quicker than the Boxster/Cayman S. There's also a 20-millimeter lowered suspension on offer for track-day enthusiasts.

Jaguar F-Type pitted against Porsche 911 Cabriolet by Tiff Needell

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

You knew it wouldn't take long and it looks like EVO is first onto YouTube with a battle between the 2014 Jaguar F-Type and the 2013 Porsche 911. Tiff Needell spends a few laps warming up the tires (read: drifting like mad) in each droptop before getting in a timed run to see who's champion and who's second best.
Before the bell rings, its the Porsche that's got everything to lose, the 50-year-old era-defining sportscar getting on with a 3.4-liter flat-six, 350 horsepower, a seven-speed manual and a 3,197-pound curb weight. Other sportscars, like the F-Type, continue to eye the 911 like a flag atop Everest that they plan to first touch, and then rip from its socket. The mid-trim Jaguar rolls into the contest with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with 380 hp, an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters and a curb weight of 3,521 pounds.
The video below shows you what happens when you let all those numbers fight it out on the same stretch of curvy track. Check it out.

Magnus Walker turbocharges his love for the Porsche 911

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

He's had his fill of early, long-hood Porsche 911s - he owns at least one from each model year, from 1964 to 1973 - so Magnus Walker, a fanatic of the Stuttgart, Germany-based automaker, recently set his sights on the early Porsche 930, as documented by this XCAR video called 'Turbo Fever.' Let us translate: pretty soon Walker will own all of the earliest, non-intercooled 911 Turbos - at least one from each model year, starting at 1975 and ending at 1977 (though the 1975 911 Turbo Carrera never officially was imported to the US by Porsche, so it'll be tougher to find one Stateside).
Any Porsche enthusiast can tell you why they love their car, and it often comes down to the small details that differentiate one model year from another. One of many examples is the mid-'80s 928. They look similar, but the basic difference between a 1984 Porsche 928 S and a 1985 928 S (US-spec) is two camshafts and 54 horsepower, though each car's V8 has its own pros and cons. We'll let Magnus Walker tell you all about the 930 and what makes the first three years special, as he's becoming quite the expert on early, air-cooled 911s. When the nearly 15-minute mini-documentary was filmed, which you can view below, he already had added four early 930s to his collection!
