Fantastic 1987 Porsche 944 No Reserve on 2040-cars

Hello, I am selling my 1987 Porsche 944. I love this car and it still handles like it's on rails. I am selling it because I need a garage space back to park one of my other cars. I have been a proud owner for almost 8 years and have been meticulous about maintaining and caring for this classic car (I have a folder of receipts to justify that too). I am hoping to sell it to a Porsche enthusiast who will do the same in caring for the car. Thus, this is why I am selling it for such a bargain. The car is still an eye catcher and I receive several thumbs up every time I drive it The mileage is at 161k and still runs fantastic! You have to take this car to the autocross.
Some of the modification I have done to the car: Sound system: Dual 10" Sony Explode Subs, power precision pcx 5800 6 Channel Amplifier, Pioneer front and rear speakers, Alpine CDA-9820XM head unit with Sirius Radio Evo III body kit Momo steering wheel and Momo shifter Porsche 968 Mirrors and Door handles Porsche 968 Rims Porsche 968 Rear hatch Some of the recent maintenance I have just performed on the car this month: Engine oil change, Coolant flush, Manual transmission oil change, Brake fluid change, Front Brake pads and rotor change, new headlights, new OEM porsche control arms with alignment, sway bar bushing replacement, power steering boot replacement, A/C clutch solenoid replacement. A/C Blows COOLD!! Some of the bad: The paint on the car is not in fantastic condition but is fair for a 28 year old car. The driver side window can rattle while driving because the window is off the window regulator track, however this is easily fixable. |

Le Mans-winning Porsche 935 K3 'seized' by DEA agents
Thu, 16 Jan 2014Porsche has won Le Mans more than any other marque, but only one of those overall race winners was actually based on a 911. That was the 1979 Porsche 935 K3, chassis number 009 00015 that was entered by brothers Don and Bill Whittington. It went on to win at the Nürburgring and Watkins Glen, and scored podium finishes at Sebring and Brands Hatch as well. In short, it's a historically significant and hugely valuable piece of motorsport history. And it was just seized by the DEA. Sorta.
After the Whittington brothers ran afoul of a handful of lawsuits and were implicated in smuggling narcotics, the car changed hands a few times before ending up in the noted collection of one Bruce Meyers. He had it at Laguna Seca earlier this month when a black Suburban, Dodge Charger and transporter truck pulled up with government plates, asked to speak with Meyer, presented him with a court order, loaded the car onto the truck and drove off.
Though familiar with the legal disputes surrounding the ownership of the car and the misdeeds of its famous original owners, Meyer was left understandably distraught over the events that had just unfolded in front of him to separate him from his pride and joy. (Or one of them, anyway; Bruce has got an eminently desirable collection of classic cars.) But here's the kicker: those DEA agents weren't actual DEA agents. Fortunately they weren't thieves, either. The actual story could have been the plot right out of Ocean's 14 if they ever made one and it focused on classic cars. (Is anyone in Hollywood listening?)
2014 Porsche Panamera arrives with new E-Hybrid, long-wheelbase models
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Porsche will officially unveil the refreshed 2014 Panamera at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month, and there's a whole lot in store for the updated model, far beyond the minimal styling tweaks you see here. Sure, there's a new fascia with more prominent LED lighting (including full LED headlamps) and the rump has been tweaked ever so slightly, but the big news for 2014 concerns what's underneath that rakish skin.
First up, Porsche will now offer a Panamera S E-Hybrid model - a plug-in hybrid that builds on the technology first introduced in the Panamera S Hybrid that we tested in 2011. For this new application, a more powerful electric motor and higher-performance battery have been fitted (official specs have not been released just yet), and Porsche says the battery can be recharged in just two and a half hours when the car is plugged in to a 240-volt outlet, and the charging (as well as other vehicle data) can be monitored via a new Porsche Car Connect app available for Android and iOS devices.
The E-Hybrid will have an all-electric driving range of "greater than 20 miles" and will be able to travel at speeds up to 84 miles per hour solely on electric power.
Porsche finally moving ahead with flat four engine
Sun, 23 Mar 2014When Porsche released the first Boxster in 1996 and the first Cayman in 2005, the idea was to create an entry-level model for the German automaker's sports car range. The latest iterations of both closely related models, however, have begun to encroach dangerously on the 911's territory, particularly in their newest GTS specifications. That could be about to change, however, with the introduction of a four-cylinder engine for the compact mid-engined coupe and roadster.
According to Automotive News, Porsche is finally preparing to launch a new boxer four engine in the Boxster and Cayman, following years of speculation. The engine would be based on the same architecture as the company's famous flat six, but with two fewer cylinders to cut weight. Don't expect it to cut much in the way of performance, however: Porsche chief Matthias Muller indicates that the new engine could produce as much as 395 horsepower - significantly more than even the 340hp flat six in the Cayman GTS, suggesting that the engine could even find its way into the 911 as well.
It's no more clear which markets would get the four-cylinder engine, either. But wherever it is offered and in whichever form, it wouldn't be the first time we'd see a Porsche with a four-pot engine. Not by a long shot. Both the classic 912 and 356 were powered by boxer fours, as was the 914 - not to mention the 718 pictured above and the iconic 550 Spyder. The front-engined 924, 944 and 968 packed inline-four engines, but the last of those were discontinued in the 1990s. The prospect of a four-cylinder Boxster/Cayman has been rumored for many years now, most recently joined by the possibility of a four-pot Macan as well.
