selling my 1994 Porsche 968, i have owned the car since 2007 and have loved every minute of it. Selling because I simply do not use it enough. My friend and I were talking and I decided the money from it could much better be used than the car sitting in the garage. The car has approximately 145,000 miles on it. The odometer gear did break (and has been replaced) but for while I had to keep track of miles by hand. The car passed emissions with flying colors last month as well as inspection. If you are turned off by it looking like a "race car" be sure to let me know. i can easily put the stock seats back in and the door numbers are stickers and come right off. Do not think of this as a dedicated track car. but more so a street car that has racing seats in it.

It has Boxster 17" wheels with sticky Hankook rs3's 225 front 255 rear tires on it. i have the original 16"s with tires that you can have as well. the clutch and dual mass flywheel were replaced in 2008. I run Brad Penn 20w50 oil religiously. Has the factory limited slip diff, as well as the 10 speaker sound system (all speakers have been upgraded). Lindsey Racing short shift kit and Momo shift knob. The wheels are plasti-dipped black, if you do not know about plastidip its a rubber coating that just peels off, they are factory silver underneath.

The car slowly over the years became more track oriented. total track days "DE's" is 6. some of the more track oriented mods are:
-driver and passenger racing seats (have original power grey seats)
-Sparco 5 point harnesses (original 3 point seat belts still installed)
-928 S4 front brakes
-Porterfield r4-s brake pads all around
-more aggressive brake bias valve, forget the valve number but its the usual upgrade.
-aftermarket Koni yellow struts all around
-coil over kit with 300# springs, lowered
-custom Dual setrab oil cooler, car now holds 10 quarts of oil
-Sparco steering wheel (brand new, not a used one)
-AEM Digital oil temp gauge
-crank scraper
-oil pan baffle
-rear seat delete with custom fiberglass replacement (have orginial rear seats as well)
-custom one off 3d-printed velocity stacks for the well known "air box mod" holes.
-upper chasis brace
-design one racing lower chassis brace
-design one racing "roll cage" with the diagonal brace and harness bar.
-RS barn cat back exhaust
-RS barn stage 1 chip

Decided to do rod bearings, and one thing led to another and the whole motor was apart. I have a full build sheet i will attach in the pictures. stock build, besides a couple of things:
-4 angle valve job and fully rebuild head
-crank scraper
-oil pan baffle welded in
-intake manifold hot tanked and bead blasted, then powder coated
-all of the balance shaft bushings and oil pump drive gear replaced
-variocam pads and chain replaced
-head was shaved, thus compression has been increased
-Wide Fire head gasket

the bad:
-paint is not that good, always planned on a paint job "one day"
-dash is cracked (have a dash cover on it)

-couple places where the clear coat has started to chip (rear bumper, sunroof)

-motorcycle fell into the passenger door and it was repainted poorly

-Drivers door was keyed and repainted so/so

probably forgetting some stuff, will add anything else i remember.

In the picture of the cylinder head, the spot that is corroded was ground out by the machinist and new aluminum was welded in, and then the head was resurfaced.

On Aug-27-14 at 21:30:35 PDT, seller added the following information:

It also has MO30 front and rear sway bars with Derlin bushings.

again, as if i think of anything else i will be sure to add it.

Jaguar F-Type pitted against Porsche 911 Cabriolet by Tiff Needell

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

You knew it wouldn't take long and it looks like EVO is first onto YouTube with a battle between the 2014 Jaguar F-Type and the 2013 Porsche 911. Tiff Needell spends a few laps warming up the tires (read: drifting like mad) in each droptop before getting in a timed run to see who's champion and who's second best.
Before the bell rings, its the Porsche that's got everything to lose, the 50-year-old era-defining sportscar getting on with a 3.4-liter flat-six, 350 horsepower, a seven-speed manual and a 3,197-pound curb weight. Other sportscars, like the F-Type, continue to eye the 911 like a flag atop Everest that they plan to first touch, and then rip from its socket. The mid-trim Jaguar rolls into the contest with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with 380 hp, an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters and a curb weight of 3,521 pounds.
The video below shows you what happens when you let all those numbers fight it out on the same stretch of curvy track. Check it out.

Porsche 911 GT3 wows the crowds in Geneva

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Porsche has a long and storied history of taking its range-topping 911 sportscar racing, with an enviable record of achievements in tow. The latest machine with which the automaker will take to the track can be seen above: the fifth-generation 2014 911 GT3.
With 475 horsepower strumming through the 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, this is the pinnacle of naturally aspirated performance from Porsche. It can go from 0 to 60 in just 3.3 seconds, hit a top speed of 195 miles per hour and has lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in less than seven and a half minutes.
A dual-clutch PDK transmission (no standard manual gearbox will be offered) with shorter gearing than lesser 911 models sends power to the rear wheels. Providing forward motion isn't the only thing those rear wheels will be doing - Porsche says the 2014 911 GT3 is fitted with the manufacturer's first active rear-wheel steering.

How Porsche got Patrick Dempsey into the driver's seat for Le Mans

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice. Ask Patrick Dempsey and he'll likely tell you the same secret for landing a role on a hit TV show or, for that matter, driving a Porsche in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
That's because, like McQueen and Newman, Dempsey has earned his place in that rarified field of actors who also race. He's competed in Baja and Grand-Am, co-owns an IndyCar team, and this year returned to Le Mans where he and his teammates Joe Foster and Patrick Long finished fourth in the GTE-Am class behind the wheel of their Porsche 911 RSR.
It's a grueling race, and the fluid transition between drivers behind the wheel is a key element to success. Check out the satirical video below to see how Dempsey and company got ready.
