THIS IS A 2001 PORSCHE BOXSTER CONVERTIBLE . IT ONLY HAS 58827 MILES. IT HAS A  2.7L 2687CC H6 GAS DOHC Naturally Aspirated ENGINE, IT IS REAR WHEEL DRIVE WITH A 5 SPEED MANUEL  TRANSMISSION.

THIS IS A RARE 2 DOOR CONVERTIBLE WITH LOW MILES.  THE TITLE SAYS THE CAR HAS 53327 BUT THE DASH INDICATES THAT IT HAS 58827 MILES. THE CAR COMES FULLY LOADED WITH BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR.. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS ARE BLACK LEATHER AND ARE IN GOOD SHAPE. THE VEHICLE COMES EQUIPPED WITH POWER LOCKS, WINDOWS, AND SIDE MIRRORS AND A CD PLAYER.  OVERALL THE INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE.

THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE IS ALSO IN GREAT SHAPE. THERE ARE NO SIGNIFICANT DENTS OR BODY DAMAGE.. THERE MAYBE LITTLE SCUFFS OR VERY LIGHT SCRATCHES THAT ARE BARELY NOTICABLE.  THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS ALSO IN GOOD SHAPE, NO RIPS OR TEARS.  SOME OF THE WHEELS DO HAVE SOME CURB RASH BUT NOTHING TOO TOO CRAZY.  THE VEHICLE COMES WITH PILOT SPORT AND S PLUS SPORT TIRES. THE FRONT SIZE IS 205 50 R17, AND THE REAR IS 255 40 R17.

THE VEHICLE DOES HAVE A NEW JERSEY SALVAGE FLOOD TITLE. THE CAR WAS INLOVLED IN A FLOOD AND THERE WAS SOME WATER DAMAGE..BEFORE READING FURTHER ON PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT A MECHANIC AT ALL, I JUST GET THE CAR AND MAKE SURE THE MOTOR IS NOT SEIZED AND CLEAN IT, SO I AM NOT 100% KNOWLEDGABLE ON HOW TO FIX OR WHAT TO DO AS FAR AS TROUBLE SHOOTING GOES. HAVING SAID THAT, I FOUND THAT THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER WINDOW DO NOT POWER UP OR DOWN. I COULD NOT OPEN THE HOOD OR THE TRUNK BECAUSE I COULD NOT GET POWER TO THEM TO OPEN.  CONSIDERING THAT I COULD NOT OPEN THE TRUNK OR HOOD, I WAS LIMITED TO WHAT I COULD DO. HOWEVER I WAS ABLE TO SQUEEZE A JUMPER BOX AND BY PASS THE STARTER, FIND GROUND AND MAKE SURE THE MOTOR DID TURN.. THE MOTOR IS NOT SEIZED AND DOES TURN OVER.. I DID NOT HAVE THIS VEHICLE STARTED OR IDLEING , JUST A QUICK TURN TO INDICATE THAT THE MOTOR WAS NOT SEIZED.  PLAYING WITH SOME OF THE FUSES I WAS ABLE TO GET THE DASH TO LIGHT UP AND IT WORKS FINE AS INDICATED IN PICTURE, THE HEAT MODUEL WORKS AND DOES BLOW HEAT AND ALSO ILLUMINATE, AND ALSO THE HEADLIGHTS , HIGH BEAMS, BLINKERS AND BRAKE LIGHTS DO WORK. THE CAR ALSO DOES SHIFT INTO GEARS AND ROLLS TO INDICATE THAT NOTHING IS SEIZED.

ALL IN ALL THIS IS A GREAT RARE CAR THAT NEEDS SOME TLC.. WITH THE RIGHT KNOWLEDGE THIS CAR HAS A LOT OF POTENTIAL. TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE WATER DID NOT GET VERY HIGH AT ALL, I HAVE BOUGHT OTHER FLOOD CARS AND I DID SEE CARS FLOODED A LOT WORSE. GOOD LUCK AND THANK YOU!

THANK YOU AND PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IF NEEDED, BEFORE BIDDING .. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE 15 OR MORE POSITIVE FEEDBACK I WILL BLOCK YOU UNLESS SPECIALLY ARRANGED.

Preparing for Le Mans 2014 Porsche remembers 1971 and the 917 [w/video]

Sun, 07 Apr 2013

Porsche has given us another look back at its successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This time it's 1971, the year that its 917 set records that haven't all been eclipsed. It's 45-kilogram magnesium tube frame was the lightest, Jackie Oliver set the fastest in-race lap with a time that still stands, and winning drivers Helmut Marko - the same Helmut Marko currently with Infiniti Red Bull Racing - and Gilles Lethem did so many laps that their distance wasn't exceeded until the Audi R15 TDI did it in 2010.
1971 was also the year of the "Pink Pig." With bodywork created by a French aerodynamics firm, the wider, rounder 917 earned the porcine moniker so Porsche painted it pink and labeled it with the cuts you'd get from a pig. Sponsor Martini was so miffed they demanded all Martini branding be removed. No one can remove the thousands of photographs taken of the car ever since. Enjoy that and more in the video below.

Porsche 959 Prototype started it all

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

While Porsche was unveiling the new Nürburgring-dominating 918 Spyder downstairs in Hall 3 here at the Frankfurt Messe, there was another Porsche supercar quietly and discretely on display upstairs in the same hall. That, of course, was the 959. But not just any 959: this was the original Gruppe B prototype.
The 959 was first developed as a rally car in the early 80s to compete with the likes of the original Audi Sport Quattro S1, Ford RS200 and Lancia Delta S4. But Zuffenhausen soon saw its potential as a production road-going supercar, emerging as a technological marvel to challenge the decidedly linear approach of the Ferrari F40. It still stands as a groundbreaking supercar in its own right, but also lead to the first all-wheel-drive 911 Turbo and set the stage for the Carrera GT and aforementioned 918 Spyder that followed to cap the top of the evolving Porsche range.
This original Gruppe B prototype, which presaged the production 959, packed a 450-horsepower 2.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six into an even sleeker form than the final version that followed. We caught up with it on display as part of a display of 80s German classics, of which this 959 prototype immediately stood out as the pick of the proverbial litter. Check out the hotness in the high-resolution image gallery above.

Man arrested for stealing part of Paul Walker Porsche wreck

Fri, 06 Dec 2013

Humans are odd creatures. Some of us collect things associated with bad events, particularly when it comes to cars. Your author, for example, has the grille of his wrecked 2004 Mini Cooper S hanging on the wall. As a more extreme example, an 18-year-old Californian is in trouble with the LA police, but not for taking an item from his own car accident. Instead, he has been arrested for stealing from the wreck of the Porsche Carrera GT that killed actor Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas.
And it wasn't a small piece, either. It was the Carrera GT's carbon-fiber roof panel. Making matters worse is word that the theft happened while the tow truck that was hauling the wrecked Porsche was sitting in traffic. According to the LA Sheriff's Department report, "A witness saw a male exit a vehicle that was following the tow truck. The male grabbed a piece of the wrecked Porsche off the tow truck bed." Besides the eyewitnesses, it didn't help that images of the roof panel were later posted on Instagram.
The man, Jameson Witty, was later arrested at his home, where police also found the roof panel. The driver of the car Witty was in when he took the roof panel, meanwhile, is planning on surrendering to the police, according to CNN. It remains unclear if the district attorney's office will charge the two, although if it does, they'll be facing felony grand theft and tampering with evidence.
