2006 Porsche Cayman on 2040-cars
Seattle, Washington, United States
Porsche Cayman S with 33,080 miles. This Cayman S has the coveted Tiptronic S Transmission and Sport Chrono Package Plus. Recent Mobil 1 synthetic oil change and Porsche required services completed. The car is finished in Black with Sand Beige Full Leather interior (a $2,095 option). This Cayman S has been very well maintained, properly serviced, and with only 33,080 miles, it is in immaculate condition!
The Original Sticker was $73,200. This Cayman S is loaded with features including Tiptronic S Transmission (a $3,210 option), Sport Chrono Package Plus ($960), Sport Steering Wheel ($250), Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package ($1,090), GPS Navigation PCM 2.1 ($3,070), CD Player, Heated Front Seats, Automatic Climate Control ($550), Bose Surround Sound System ($1,665), Cruise Control, Wheel Caps with Colored Crest, Remote Keyless Entry/Alarm, Clean Unblemished Interior, 18” wheels for the best balance of ride and handling. All the books and 2 sets of original keys.
This Cayman “S” has the Sport Chrono Package which in my opinion is the most important feature to look for when purchasing a Cayman “S”. When the Sport mode is activated you will enjoy greater response and enhanced driving pleasure. The engine reacts even more directly to the accelerator pedal, the rev-limiter is adjusted to a harder setting and engine dynamics are tuned for performance driving. This is the feature that you want in your Cayman S!

Porsche drivers escape this horrific VIR crash unscathed
Mon, 07 Oct 2013There is no doubting the fact that it takes nerves of steel to be a racecar driver, but the same can also be said for motorsports photographers. Case in point: The American Le Mans Series Oak Tree Grand Prix at the Virginia International Raceway where two Porsche 911 racecars crash hard into the tire barrier, but the dedicated cameraman stays with the shot - diving away only at the last second just as the battered No. 31 car (shown above) comes to rest atop the tire barriers just feet from where he was standing.
The crash occurred when the two Porsches charged hard into a corner. Judging by the video, the white No. 48 car appears to not see the orange No. 31 and the two cars make contact, skidding off track hitting the tire barriers at a high rate of speed. Both drivers walked away from the frightening crash, but the video - posted below - shows just how bad things could have been. Hopefully the close call will serve as a lesson for the woman standing in the track marshal's post who has her back to the racing as the two cars barrel directly toward her.
Porsche patent sketches show removable headrest wind deflector
Mon, 21 Oct 2013While driving around in a convertible might seem glamorous, ask anyone with long hair and they'll likely tell you how it really is: the wind buffets, your hair goes everywhere and it's anything but glamorous. That's why you see so many convertibles driving with their tops up, their windows up or wind deflectors in place. But Porsche is apparently preparing to kick it up to the next level.
These patent drawings have leaked out, demonstrating what appears to be some new kind of wind-deflecting device being developed by Porsche. The mechanism is apparently fitted to the headrest itself and designed to keep the wind buffeting specifically around the head down to a minimum while allowing the car's occupants to enjoy the top-down driving experience.
No word on when it might hit the market, but we won't be surprised to see this kind of device appear on a future version of the Boxster or 911 Cabriolet. But nowhere else: despite the apparent leak, the patent drawings suggest that Porsche will be keeping this technology proprietary. Whether sister brands like Volkswagen, Bentley or Lamborghini will get their hands on it remains to be seen.
Porsche becomes first company to rent out Vatican's Sistine Chapel
Fri, 17 Oct 2014We wouldn't go so far as to say God is a Porsche fan, but those in charge of one of the holiest Christian spots on our little blue marble are welcoming the German automaker into one of the religion's most revered and beautiful settings - the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. In so doing, Porsche will reportedly become the first company to rent out the holy hall for a corporate function.
Now, it's not like Pope Francis has signed off on Porsche doing do donuts in a 911 underneath Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam. Instead, the Vatican has rented out the home of the Papal Conclave to the Porsche Travel Club, which will host a classical music concert. The Travel Club organizes events and tours across Europe for Porsche enthusiasts, with the Vatican concert just one part of a tour of Rome.
According to Automotive News Europe, Porsche will sell 40 tickets - at 5,000 euros each ($6,379) - to the event, while the Vatican has confirmed that the Pope will not be in attendance.
