I am in the process of reassembling this car, It has had most subsystems removed (interior, wipers, climate control, etc)  it has a tan leather interior kit partially installed, that work needs to be completed by the new owner.  The car is running and drives well, it needs to have everything including the interior and climate control system reinstalled and checked out.  It has a new sealed A/C compressor that needs to be piped into the A/C system and professionally reloaded.  The new owner will need to spend some time reinstalling all the features and checking them out as they go.  The dash has a minimum amount of functionality in its current condition.  The headlights, oil pressure, temp gauge and transmission control are wired and working, everything else needs to be reinstalled and checked out.  The hydraulic hood mechanism needs to be reattached and checked out (the Hood can be raised and lowered manually). The passenger window motor does not work, I am including a working replacement window motor that needs to be installed.  As you can see from the pictures there are lots of parts that need to be installed.  Other problems will most likely surface as those features are brought on line, so plan on doing some trouble shooting and repairing. The body is in good shape as can be seen in the photos there is a dent in the lower drivers side fender/ rocker panel area, not a big deal but worth mentioning.  This car runs well, has good oil pressure, drives and stops well.  Car is being sold as is, so please ask questions before bidding.  The small tasks take a long time when working on a Rolls Royce so this is not a good project for someone in a hurry!!!

Rolls-Royce Corniche Coupe does some performance testing at N"urburgring

Wed, 10 Oct 2012

While all the gory details surrounding the new Rolls-Royce coupe - including its true name, "Corniche" is just a savory-sounding best guess right now - are still shrouded in mystery, this new set of clandestinely foraged images proves that the car probably won't be a slouch in terms of performance.
The Ghost-based Roller was spotted on the Nürburgring Nordschleife recently, demonstrating its sporting chops at the same time it was showing off it's impressive patrician nose. Expectations are that, when the new coupe is shown off for real at the Geneva Motor Show in March of next year, that nose will belong to the fastest production car to ever wear the Spirit of Ecstasy.
Indications are that the Corniche will be rocking a turbocharged V12, making in the ballpark of 600 horsepower, and using an eight-speed transmission.

Rolls-Royce Phantom celebrates decade of decadence

Fri, 04 Jan 2013

Ten years ago, Rolls-Royce opened its Goodwood manufacturing facility and handed over the keys to the very first Phantom. Back then, parent company BMW was cranking out Phantom sedans at the blistering pace of one unit per day. By the end of 2003, that number had tripled, and today, the Goodwood plant builds a total of 20 Phantoms in sedan, coupe, drophead and extended-wheelbase models during a single day's working hours. Originally, there were fewer than 400 workers on staff responsible for hand-building the big cruisers, but now the plant boasts over 1,400 craftsmen, with 100 of those positions added in 2012 alone.
Rolls-Royce boasts one of the lowest staff turnover rates of any brand in the industry, thanks in part to a successful apprenticeship and internship program, and the company notes 80 percent of its workers live within 15 miles of the facility. You can read the full press release on the 10th anniversary of both the Phantom and the Goodwood plant below.

Rolls-Royce teases Wraith debut in Geneva

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

Rolls-Royce is headed to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with a new addition to its lineup: the Wraith. The ultra-luxury automaker says it plans to start deliveries by the fourth quarter of this year, though details are scarce at the moment. The automaker has contented itself with saying the Wraith will the "most dynamic, powerful and beautiful Rolls-Royce in the company's history." We hear it will be the most modest, too.
Rolls-Royce first began using the Wraith nameplate in 1938. The original car used a tweaked version of the 4.3-liter inline six-cylinder found in the company's 25/30, but its real claim to fame came from the fact that it boasted speed-variable hydraulic dampers. Capable of reaching speeds of up to 85 miles per hour, Rolls-Royce only built 492 examples of the vehicle's chassis.
You can look for the new Wraith to bow at the Geneva Motor Show in March. In the interim, check out the shockingly bare press release below and get ready for a spate of teasers to follow.
