This was a new car trade that is very rare, and we had to offer it to our eBay customers. The car is in beautiful condition inside and out. Please buy confidently knowing the car is safe and secure mechanically operating as it should. The Carfax is clean with no reported accidents. Cosmetically, it is beautiful aside from a small scuff on the rear bumper which is pictured. We welcome out of state bidders who are ready to hop in this Viggen. You can fly in, and we can pick you up from our local Syracuse Hancock Airport. I would hop in and drive this car cross country. The brakes feel good, tires are good, suspension feels tight, and it drives straight like an arrow! New York State bidders will be required to pay sales tax and the car will also come with a limited warranty.
There are some tasteful modifications that were done to this Viggen and no corners were cut. These modifications include an aftermarket large front mount intercooler, a full 3-inch exhaust including downpipe, staged clutch, and a rear sway bar from GS. The car has some sort of tune on it, the exact tune is unknown. Believed to be a stage 3 tune. Pulls super hard without any issues. This car was maintained very well and has recently had a new serpentine belt tensioner, and water pump done on it. It has 95K original miles, and no rust on the body at all! National Electric Vehicle stops Saab 9-3 production amidst financing woes
Tue, 20 May 2014It seems that quirky, Swedish automaker Saab might be on life support yet again. Its owner, National Electric Vehicle Sweden, has announced that it's reducing its workforce and temporarily halting production of the 9-3 due to financial problems. NEVS was only building six cars a day, anyway.
The company put out a press release admitting its economic woes, but it still appeared hopeful. NEVS claims it's developing "a new platform on the Phoenix architecture," and it has a frame agreement with an international automotive OEM. It didn't give any specific details about either one of these assertions though. According to The Wall Street Journal, NEVS needs the partnership to lower development costs in order to stay afloat. Saab spokesperson Mikael Ostlund told Autoblog in an email that the stop in production of the 9-3 in Trollhättan would last four weeks.
NEVS says it's in negotiation to sell a portion of the company to an automotive company. Its current monetary woes are caused by shareholder Qingbo Investment Company not financing the company as agreed. "We plan to have the results of the discussions at latest during June," said Ostlund.
Former Saab chairman Muller faces summons in tax inquiry
Thu, 23 May 2013Former Saab Chairman Victor Muller may be called in for questioning as part of an official inquiry into suspected tax evasion by three of the automaker's former executives. A prosecutor has officially named former CEO Jan-Ake Jonsson and two other executives in the investigation, and official court documents say that Muller will be called in by the Financial Crimes Unit. According to Reuters, prosecutors are currently looking into allegations that the executives worked to dodge taxes between 2010 and 2011, when the automaker finally went into bankruptcy.
The Truth About Cars reports the investigation may center around the $540,000 paid as consulting fees to Latin America Tug Holding NV, a company Muller owns. It's possible that the Swedish authorities believe the Saab executives were using the tug boat company as a tax haven, and that the automaker should have paid taxes and social security contributions on the money. Muller has not been charged.
Meanwhile, Muller is defending his earnings in a new interview with Automotive News. Having come under fire for his $773,000 salary at Saab, the Spyker CEO said his pay was commensurate with an executive running a company with 4,000 employees.
Nicolas Cage flogs Saab-based Senova from Beijing Auto [w/video]
Mon, 13 May 2013BAIC has officially pulled the covers off of its new Senova D Series sedan for China. The four-door is based on the old Saab 9-5 and boasts a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Local buyers can get their hands on the machine for around $22,745 at current conversion rates. Other engine options include a turbocharged 1.8-liter four cylinder as well as turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder, and a wide range of safety equipment comes standard on every trim except the very base model. Those goodies include a tire pressure monitoring system, active head restraints, blind spot detection, driver fatigue detection and parking sensors.
The Senova nameplate serves every model based on former Saab architectures, including the Epsilon, GM2900 and GM2400 platforms as well as engine and transmission tech. In order to promote its new products, BAIC has hired Hollywood staple Nicolas Cage to serve as the company's brand ambassador.
