I purchased the car as an "extra" vehicle. I knew when I bought it there were issues. Thought that I had them all taken care of. At the end of May, I noticed when I pulled out from a traffic light, there was a small puff of smoke. When I took it to the mechanic, he said that there was a misfire in cylinder 3, and a loss of compression. He has informed me that this could be caused by several things, and he would not know for sure until after he starts to work on it. Problem for me, I do not want to invest any more money into it! So here is what I had done to it in the last 8 months; new clutch 4 new shocks, valve seals, alternator, 2 sets of tires (back are different than front). As you can see, there is common paint peel on the hood and driver's side door. The car DOES currently run (not as it should) however on occasion may stall when you come to a sudden stop. The headliner is garbage, the power windows work, however sometimes stick. Power locks work perfectly, cruise control works great. AC does not currently work, however the option is there. This car is far from perfect, however for a someone who has the ability, it has potential to be a great little car! Even not running right, it is averaging 32 MPG! Questions? Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:

Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k
Fri, 08 Aug 2014General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
