I'm starting grad school in January, and need to sell my car(s) to help pay for it. 2002 WRX in World Rally Blue with 171,000 miles. It is an amazing car to drive, sounds fantastic, and has no known issues. Last December I installed all new speakers, a JVC navigation unit w/ bluetooth phone and music streaming, a new antenna, and a low-profile subwoofer under the passenger seat (which sounds great). Upgrades include:
- Iridium plugs
- Perrin fuel rail
- Perrin intercooler hoses
- Aluminum crank and alternator pulley
- Catless up-pipe
- Subiesport catback exhaust
- Adjustable blow-off valve (original included)
- Kartboy SSK w/ bushings (best shifter I've ever used)
- COBB Accessport w/ stage 2 map for 93 octane fuel (Accessport included to reflash if you choose)
- K&N panel filter
Car has 2 sets of wheels and tires. The original wheels have brand new snow tires mounted. Summer set are OZ Alleggherita (15 lbs each) with Michelin Pilot Super Sports (also new). The summer wheels and tires were $2000. There is a box of original parts that come with the car, as well as an unmounted turbo heatshield, front strut tower bar, and a few replacement belts. The windshield cracked during the winter last year, and I just had it replaced by Safelite last week (full warranty). First thing the new owner should do is find a tunnel to accelerate through, this is the best sounding car I've ever owned (and I've owned more than I'd like to admit).

2015 Subaru Outback
Tue, 01 Jul 2014"We like producing cars that are different." That's the company line trumpeted by several Subaru executives during the launch of the 2015 Outback - one of Fuji Heavy's most successful vehicles to date. Managing Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski accurately noted that while Subaru has never really found salvation with its mainstream sedans, it's the higher-riding, butcher offerings like the Outback and the Impreza-based XV Crosstrek that have been sales stars for the Japanese company. In 2013, for example, Subaru sold nearly three Outbacks for every Legacy it moved. And in 2014, the XV is on pace to outsell the Impreza upon which its based.
But Subarus have always been different, catering to unique customers that desire something a bit more special than your run-of-the-mill sedan or crossover. It's clearly worked, with Subaru having posted 30 months of year-over-year sales increases as of this writing. And even as the automaker's portfolio goes more mainstream, smoothing out its serially awkward styling and gunning for a larger market share here in the United States, that intrinsic Subaru differentiation is still baked in to each and every product.
It's that new Outback we're here to talk about today, a vehicle that's been comprehensively redesigned for the 2015 model year while not shaking up the formula that's made it successful since its inception in the mid-1990s, back when it (arguably) launched what we now know as the crossover utility vehicle segment. It's still plenty different - and plenty good, too.
Subaru ups US sales projections to 500k units
Wed, 10 Sep 2014Subaru is going absolutely gangbusters so far in 2014, with growing year-over-year sales every month this year adding to the streak of 33 consecutive months. The prognosis is so positive that the Japanese brand is revising its 2014 forecast to 500,000 vehicles or more, from a previous estimated 460,000. If it reaches the goal, it would be the first time that the automaker hit the half-million mark here.
Subaru has been growing steadily in the US for a while now. Annual sales have increased for the past five consecutive years with 2014 not indicating for that to change. For August alone, the company moved 50,246 vehicles, up 22.37 percent year-over-year, and the business proclaimed it as the best month in its history.
According to Subaru, it believes that the growth for the last two years has been fueled by the latest Forester and XV Crosstrek last year and the new Legacy and Outback this year. "The market is telling us that we are delivering products that consumers want at the right prices," said Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer at Subaru of America. Subaru to stop building Camry for Toyota in the US
Fri, 09 May 2014It was back in 2007 that Subaru of Indiana Automotive, under contract from Subaru minority shareholder Toyota, built the first Toyota Camry at its plant in Lafayette, Indiana. Rumblings of the end of that contract work have been around for a while, as Subaru talked of expanding capacity to build more units and add a line for the Impreza, and Toyota talked of moving Camry production to its Georgetown, KY plant. The news was official internally last November when SIA Executive Vice President Tom Easterday told the Louisville Courier-Journal that Camry production would end. Now, Automotive News reports that both automakers have admitted publicly that the end will come in 2016.
SIA currently has a 170,000-unit capacity devoted to the home-brand Legacy and Outback models, while a $400-million expansion increases that to 300,000 units to prepare the facility for Impreza production in two years. Freeing up the 100,000 units of production devoted to the Camry means a 400,000-unit capability, which is far more than Subaru needs at the moment, but the Toyota exit will allow it to expand any way it sees fit. Subaru has said it will absorb the workers on the Camry line and no jobs will be lost, the mayor of Lafayette saying the development could change the timetable for the expansion.
